This Rashida Jones-produced documentary looks at the amateur porn industry and the young women it attracts as performers.

Directed by Jill Bauer and Ronna Gradus, Hot Girls Wanted looks at the lives of several 18- and 19-year-olds and how they were recruited — plus how reality stacks up against their expectations as they decided to pursue this line of work.

The feature debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival where it was picked up by Netflix. Bauer, Gradus and editor Brittany Huckabee also serve as producers.

Hot Girls Wanted debuted today on the streaming service and will also be shown on Netflix in Europe.

Does it make me a dick for not felling sorry for girls in this situation unless they are under aged, forced or drugged?

I haven't watched it yet but I think I'll check it out. It's just that usually I watch this sort of thing and usually end up with the same conclusion; what did you think was going to happen when did this?

You're going to be having sex with a bunch of men you don't know and may not be attracted to. That's the job and everyone knows it.

Bruh its like watching flavor of love with even ditzier females. Its impossible to feel sorry for any female in this flick. None of them come from bad backgrounds and they are all in it for the fast lifestyle.

This wasn't what I expected. Usually these kinds of documentaries make the girls come off as broken little princesses, who were duped by big bad men.

This film makes these girls as complicit in their own exploitation as any of the men are.

You know women aren't to be held responsible for anything when there's men involved

So glad someone gets it. We're princesses damnit. If a woman makes a mistake or error in judgment, it's undoubtedly because she was negatively influenced by others and had no power, as a dainty vagina-haver, to do or say differently.

People are attracted to the imagery of the coke and dance music-fueled nights, sports cars and superficial nature of it all. Not that different from the band & groupie scene, really. It's amazing that people actually expect that to be fulfilling.

    It's true

Age of consent laws for example are in place to protect the fragile (gullible) minds of women, because every teenage boy I know/knew wants ass and brags about conquests

But you can't get away with having one law for boys and one for girls, even tho on average boys and girls think and behave way differently

Case in point, remember when one of those universities banned girls from attending male frat parties because girls weren't being responsible with their drinks and kept getting drugged and raped

Dude, don't even get us started on that BS. You know that's too much truth for some people here to navigate. Young women being responsible for their own actions? Heresy, I tells you! Heresy!

It looks interesting enough to watch, but fairly depressing.
