Woman, 26, arrested for 'Facebook thugging' after posting selfie with gun during mistaken identity social media 'feud' Virginia don't play! But, is this in fact a 1st Amendment issue? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ing-posting-selfie-gun-social-media-feud.html
I think that we are getting to a point where every time something bad happens...we look at that persons life through a microscope and then people close say...I should have picked up on the signs...so the person that reported this thought they were stopping a crime before it happened
You make a good point in general. However, in this case, the person reporting her did not report the people threatening her that they were coming to find her. She didn't know them. It's called a warning shot, no?
The make my day law in full effect... Go ahead and come find me but when you do...know this, I'm packing?
I personally: would NEVER post a photo like that (foolish of her because it allows for situations like what happened @reporting to police...to her giving her predators the advantage of knowing beforehand...but in the interest of deterrence, she appeared to be letting them know) ..Sounds like you disagree maybe? In a similar vein, in PA it's called The Castle Doctrine/Law...if they came for her at her home as they threatened , the law says she can defend herself if she feels physically threatened.
Whatever happened to just fighting people in the street on your own block Now you gotta go on Facebook and act hard....gotdamn millennials
Them eyebrows, tho. Real talk; we ought to be concerned about any law that wants to put us in jail for "vulgar language." That's a very, very slippery slope.
someone should really think there s enough happening on the streets that would better be followed by justice then some crap like that. what a waste of resources and money.
Yeah...vulgar language is a crime? In America? What contitues vulgar language..what are the definitions? Very strange in VA
To expound on this..Judd was on a CNN show yesterday...and wrote an essay about it. "Actress and rape survivor Ashley Judd reveals she is pressing charges against Twitter trolls who sent her a 'tsunami of sexually violent threats" link
They actually jail people over what they write in the UK The one guy got sent to prison over racist tweets directed at a black soccer player If you ask me this all feels a bit 1984-ish
I missed that story. Whoa. I think much like no one can yell fire...make the words clear and concise as to what is illegal to say in what scenario.. Only then can you know.
http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2012/mar/27/student-jailed-fabrice-muamba-tweets 2 months in prison may not seem like much.....but it IS still prison...and.....yuck Threatening people with rape and shit is one thing....I mean you don't even do that period infront of authorities......but this is iffy
