Considering the vast amount of female consumers of football....it's no secret as to why it took them so long to hire at least ONE female ref

I understand why there aren't any female nfl players or whatever but come on

Now you just need a woman in the broadcast booth with one of those old ass white guys they keep hooking up with a job

That is a seriously awesome iidea! A female co- broadcaster would rock. :)

Btw, l'm sure you knew that there was actually speculation that Condaleeza Rice was going to be the next commish..she is a huge fan and very knowledgeable.

I just looked at an article @ 2014 that estimated women made up 45 percent of the nfl fanbase

    Come on now

Time to put the illusion that women don't like football to rest

Put a woman with a nice voice in the booth and maybe I'll watch more games

    Haha..me me, l have a nice voice. :p
And an accent with some Philly flava, so people will stay awake!

For real, l did some research a cpl years ago on the female fan base and we go back pretty much to the historic beginnings of the game. Screaming and cheering n the stands for the players. Must try to find that history stuff...

I'm on board for a woman in the booth, Doris Burke does NBA games and she is outstanding , I wish a owner would look outside the box and hire her as the first female NBA coach that woman knows her shit

Why did it take so long....

ufc hired women refs a while ago despite the fact that they don't have the power to stop some of the guys.

I'm just waiting for the backlash once she gets a call wrong.

If that little ass mario Yamasaki can ref ufc fights......

It's not like he's built like herb dean or big john either

Mario can probably beat her in a fight.

The funny thing is that the toughest critics of kim are women when it comes to fighters.

You never trained before in a dojo have you :p

Women can do more than have supper on the table by 5pm

I've had my fair share of 'unassuming' women (the ones who don't look like obvious steroid users) coaching me and knocking me around

I'm not saying they can't fight but there is a reason why there is a gender split in ufc and mma.

You have to ask yourself why that split is in place and whether or not women actually had the opportunity to prove themselves against the guys

In some arenas, the separation is in place because of society, tradition and 'science.' Look at what's happening with women in the military, gaining entry into ranger school and actually completing grueling infantry training...training which makes many men wash out. When you set aside personal bias and flawed science (the kind of science that said blacks have poor night vision or were genetically inferior), great things happen

But you have to at least give people a chance to fail

I think that even then, you'd still have to have weight classes. Plus men generally have the ability to be bigger and physically stronger than most women.

Plus, I don't think that society is ready to see men fighting women as equals. If the man decides that he doesn't want to hold back he could do some serious, serious damage to his opponent. Ronda Rousey is a beast but I wouldn't put her in a ring with Georges St-Pierre, for example.

Some things gender just doesn't matter. Anybody who has a problem with a women ref is just sexist for the sake of being sexist.

    Really

It's not like a 16 year old girl clocked faster times than men in swimming @ the Olympics a few years back or anything

How dare they have aspirations beyond the kitchen

I'm just waiting for the bad call and then we will see what real sexism is and what she is made up of. People go hard on refs when they make bad calls.

Oh you mean like how certain groups of white people go all-in every time obama makes a bad play?

If I had a dollar for every racist attack on him after a questionable decision, I'd be rich

They do, however many times, the fans are 100% correct.
