Who is going to oppose russia?
A large portion of Europe gets oil from Russia.
The USA is stalemated. They still got nukes. Only ukarine are duking it out.

Many in Europe see the US as creating conflict in Ukraine.
    US business interests.
NATO should never have extended east.

As I was walking out of my building yesterday leaving work, I remember this news report capturing my eye and stopping to read and the notes at the bottom of the screen, summarizing the story. Just the little bit I saw an read on the screen sounded horrific! Terribly scary.

By the time I got to my car and after searching through the news channels to see if there was any mention of the story, I'm sorry to say I didn't hear anything about it.

Reading these few articles posted here in this forum, I do feel like many of these despicable events that occur overseas in third world countries like Kenya are quite frequently under reported. It is sad...

As for the topic itself, it is noteworthy that Al Shabab has a territory that was once a sovereign nation (largely) under its control & can launch attacks on its neighbors with impunity from this territory. And still pirates the shipping lanes coming out of the Red Sea. This is significant.

Do the math: Yemen (practically a swim from the Horn of Africa) has descended into civil war. Syria is in civil war. As is Libya (to some degree). And Iraq is such a mess that ISIS has had room to flourish.

The point here is if Islamic Extremism truly is the problem the world (read Western Govts) says it is, then why are stable regimes being toppled to leave a vacuum of chaos in their wake? Anyone that is paying attention can easily surmise that absence of order is a breeding ground for extremism. Curious, no?

It's kind of like getting rid of a community's drug infestation by legally raising the metric limits for possession and keeping the distribution laws the same. What changes?? Only the increase in the number of actors into the game.

    Textbook definition of irony.

In all fairness...it did make the news. World News ABC reported it last night...along with many other stories...the sting of the german pilot that took down the plane continues to make headlines...

It's not so much about it making the news, as it is will the world care or react. That determines the fairness.

    This

'the world' is still coming to grips with the way blacks are treated globally on other continents like Europe and North America

Until everyone cleans their own houses, you can only expect so many fucks to be given to predominately-african nations/africa

Looks like that might just happen now. The world IS watching.
Just watched a heartbreaking piece on it...the anguish of the relatives crying and the escaped students 'recounting their trauma, was unbearable to watch.
The President there is vowing to put a stop to it. We will see.

Being part of NATO does not mean freedom and democracy.
Many people do not see the US as being an example of freedom and democracy.
Rather a country dominated by big business.
Look at your food production !!
