Well surprise surprise I'm agreeing with Raider. In her defense had she said the same thing I would have roasted her even more so knowing her history and current situation.
Secondly speaking for myself the apology came off as bs because you don't sing a song like that with such vigor (seriously did you see the video) and not mean it. And if apology was going to be sincere it wouldn't happen a week after the incident that's just damage control like Tiger apologizing for cheating on his wife. He definitely was sorry.. for getting caught.
Like I said replace n word and lynch with bitch and rape and everyone supporting his free speech and his apology wouldn't say shit. It would be unacceptable and he'd be rightfully tarred and feathered.
Oh Raider will back this up her and I have definitely gotten into some nasty arguments but that's OK friends can disagree.

Allowing for the possibility that he's truly remorseful may be easier for you than it is for the bm you were debating with. I never said your comment was or wasn't racially insensitive. I said that I don't need a pass around here because I don't make remarks that could be perceived as racially insensitive.

I agree that not forgiving does nothing but hurt the victim/victims family. Forgiveness is something I have issues with so you're stronger than me in that respect.

I'm glad you voiced that to me. I appreciate it. But you also have to see that many BM my age did the same thing: Grew up in predominantly black schools, churches, etc. and married/had kids with black women. Sometimes, more than once. I'm sure you'll say "That's different" and from your perspective, maybe so. But not from mine. As long as his reason for now dating WW comes from a real place of preference and attraction (instead of a dislike or anger towards BW), I accept his reasons and his past. You and I are a generation apart, TDK. And sometimes, one generation can make all the difference in the world.

I don't doubt that and I recognize that. I make that joke all the time if shit was riskier than it is now to date ww like it was in the 80s and 70's I wouldn't have chanced it either. I was lucky to be a teen during the 90s and early 2000s so it wasn't close to the headache it must have been for you guys not to mention how do you even find people to date outside your race without an Internet if things we're so segregated.

    Thank You.

And if you like the posts, then you should read my blog! (done in a Graucho Marks cigar-ashing style)

Don't worry, I wasn't taking any of your comments to heart. I did not feel that you were insulting me in the slightest. But I will say that from the tone of the responses, you certainly know how to get the party started! But of course, I only judge a man or woman based on my encounters with them. So you're ok with me.

I am starting to feel like I am witnessing a spontaneous street fight.

Sure you may think to break it up, but the truth of the matter is that maybe the parties involved need to settle a score that you know nothing about.

In other words, just step back & see who Wins.

Really like what? How can we have any discussion about racial discrimination in the US without bringing up white people?

Personally I think we should all start throwing racially insensitive slurs. Kindness is so PC.
