For those who are interested. This is really an intriguing show. Slow for American standards perhaps as it is a typical European style mystery show.

Sundance is doing marathons of the whole first season this month, so you can catch up.

Also, go to canal plus, the French channel that is there home of this show. Check out their website for the show: Les Revenants, even if it is in French, you learn a lot and also get a feel for the mountain town this takes place in. It's an extremely well made site.

    Short plot:
There are a few people returning from the dead, some as early as 4 years ago, and one side 35 years ago. One is a serial killer, and continue his deed once back. There is this creepy child, whom probably will hold a lot of the answers.
They come back as normal people, not zombies, but there is some reason they are coming back. This first season is character and story building, but a lot of small mysteries are revealed each episode, but you have to pay attention.

I see a drinking game.. You have to drink every time a mystery is revealed, you'll be on the floor before Fin.

Caught a couple of the episodes last week. Hoping the episodes go on Sundance Channel's on Demand program list as I have other things going on that keep me from watching back to back episodes to get into the series.

I think they will air them until the 21st.

    Sounds interesting.

    Is this related to "Torchwood"?

Not really, it has a completely different feel to it. Darker. Has a bit of 'twin peaks' feel without the weirdness and wft. All things are eventually explained.

Is hard to explain without spoilers, and it is a series that take some investments as the whole first season is spent on building the characters, revealing backgrounds and some secrets and setting up the story. So a bit slow, but if you invest in it, it's very intriguing

    Looks very intriguing!
This isn't a true remake tho, but rather just taking a piece of it and reinventing it. There is an American version of les revenants in the works with A&E, allegedly.
So this series gets two american remakes sort of. Awesome

Great...another great show that I missed in the last several days. At least 'Archer' starts again in a couple of weeks. :-(

Look at this link above! Things I learned. Apparently Homeland, Dexter, 24 and Lost originated on Canal+ !? Wow!
You can also stream Les Revenants on SVTPlay.

Here is a link to english subtitles to the whole season:http://www.sous-titres.eu/series/les_revenants.html. its easy to find the episodes on line if you can't watch them on Sundance as they air them throughout December

I knew Homeland (whose season finale still has me reeling, by the way) was an adaptation of an Israeli series, but I had no idea about Dexter and 24. Wow... Thanks for link, FG!

I saw it the other night, I think they did a great job, do far, to keep to the feeling and ambiance even the characters look similar as do the town. Same lighting, background sounds and music. I hope it stays true but I will continue to watch Less Revenants when it returns on Sundance for the second season

Anyone else watched the first episode on the A& E version?

Every time I see the title I think Resurrection. I'll check it out since you recommended it

I watched it. I heard about the A&E version end of January/beginning of February in passing and didn't know it would be airing this soon.

Yeah, so far they have kept the tone and the appearance (town & characters) similar to the original. And of course they had to have the American version based in Washington state...:D

I think you will like it. Resurrection sucked big time! :). Granted, its a bit slow- on purpose, but every episode will reveal a new secret and that is one of then reasons in like it. Slow, smoldering build that makes you want more and every episode count. Just perhaps not in the Hollywood way. I do think you will like it.
