Depends...does this have anything to do with men not wearing condoms and shucking responsibility, all in the name of philosophical differences? I mean...that was my own father's explanation for not providing for his bastard children...instead, leaving them to be raised by one of his multiple baby mommas
lol Sorry I'm not following fam Are you saying its a matriarchy because so many dudes opt out of their kids' lives?
Sounds like women's right to decide on "what's going on with their bodies" is not all that crazy after all, right? Especially if she knows ahead of time that she would be a single mother. Why do men opt out of those "responsibilities"? Dare I say, what about those fucking statistics. . .
are we really going to have this talk again? goes like this so many dad's opt out 30 mins passes by of talk only and then nothing gets done. to fix the issue, you would have to get the guys that opt out to opt and since there is more them than you then you will never win It is like the sales man algorithm.
Ah ok...your header didn't say that...now based on your elaboration, the mother's legal privelidge to abandon her child is apparent, over his inability to. I think though in the case of adoptions, it is very rare thatt a woman adopts her child out without the consent of the Father. Yes I know cases exist with fathers not knowing and who legally fight for their paternalship, but nine times out of ten an adoption happens by mutual agreement of a couple, or a woman who is unable to raise the child by herself.
I can't speak on the the frequency of this occurring. I'm simply pointing out that women cannot legally be forced into parenthood, but men can.
And if men carried the baby, the tables would be turned. Its simply a reflection on who carries the child. A biological reason for who has the last say. You can't have it half way in this regard unfortunately.
Well, then don't get her pregnant. "Women cannot legally be forced into parenthood," because they are biologically forced into it. Nature > Law.
Maybe, while the child is in the womb. I'm talking about the 18 years after it's born. Biologically speaking, a child is still the offspring of it's father as well as it's mother. Women cant get pregnant on their own. So if she is biologically forced into it, then so is he. Keep in mind, i'm talking about an already established child. I'm not talking about pre-pregnancy, forced pregnancy, or abortion.
And it's cool if a woman has the last say in bringing a child into the world but when do they also get the last say in whether or not the man has to be a parent if they don't want to be? I hear you guys on if you don't want kids don't have sex but why is that never expressed to a woman?
Duh, the18 years after its born is still a repercussion that the woman carries it. There is no way to meet in the middle here. That is why, if I was a man, in would be paranoid about where I stick my dick and protection one more than one item. Men can't become a father on their own either, once that is a fact, your on a ride for at least18 years. Most women don't keep the baby to keep the guy or spite him, when it comes to unwanted pregnancies. It is unfair if you made it together that you just walk away with no responsibilities and the woman get stuck with it. That is way more common than the woman wanting a child despite the man not wanting to. Not saying that is an issue but how do you propose to deal with that fairly? This is a complicated issue
You make a good point. It would be insulting to tell a women "if you don't want to have kids, don't have sex." I don't see why it is considered fair to ask that of men.
How is it fair to expect a woman to take care of your child for 18 years because you regret it. How is that fair. Most of the time, she is a reluctant mother as well. Yes some women are trifling but then vast majority of the time if its an unwanted child, its unwanted by both parents. Abortion and adoption isn't always a possible choice based on many things.
Well I don't know what that has to do with what I was referring to but those stats are probably out there. All I am saying is if both parties are expected to be responsible why is only one allowed a choice?
Pretty much, a child is made by a man, and a woman, but the vast majority of the time, in regards to unwanted children, the woman pays a vast majority of the burden. This discussion is so effing selfish on some. No regards to the child's welfair even if it is unwanted, how horrible is that maybe half of us would be aborted, bet we would love to not exist. If you don't want a child, then do what TDK is doing, even if I disagree with him on this, he is at least extremely careful. That can't be said for a lot.
No one is saying it's fair for a woman to raise a child on her own, what I am saying is if the woman the woman alone has the choice to either be a mother or not how is that fair? If a woman wants to she can abort or as mentioned earlier just drop a baby off at a hospital and its over. For a man whether he wants to or not has to be held responsible. How is that fair?
