Considering people get shot by over zealous cops, they should rethink that

Situations like that can produce psychological trauma because you seriously don't know if ull be shot or killed because an officer 'feared for his life'

    :smt017

Even if you follow what the cops say, if you move the wrong way they'll shoot u

That racial battle fatigue hashtag is no joke

    Oh, and there's this:

Here's an LGBT person who thinks she's oppressed but that black men have it the easiest while she's on the street abusing her authority to give us shit everyday.

    So much for minority solidarity.

Basically we are suppose to shut the fuck up and just take it since everyone supposedly has it worst.
I only focus on our allies. Those who think and support the bs are not even worth a second though. I often refer to a line Morpheus says in the Matrix

"The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it"

Whoever wrote that damn script was channeling something far superior than God

I never trust a minority who can go back to being in the majority, at the snap of their fingers

As for the incident....I read about this before but didn't post it because....well gotdamn this suffering shit wears a mothafucka out

I am hot as hell tho that she wasn't fired or put in jail for playing with someone's freedom like that

Exactly and that's why I've always maintained blacks have it worst. Yes I get its not the "Oppression Olympics" but what can't be denied is that certain problems are very unique and in a game where your position is often defined by something that's not the status quo and can't be changed. It creates a very unique set of problems. Seriously what separates many Jews, Italians, Irish, or any "ethnic" white from being white that a name change can't change? Same thing for a lot of Euro looking Hispanics, you think Cameron Diaz or Ricky Martin ever felt the sting of being Hispanic?
    This shit is so real

Agreed. Black people experience this sort of oppression acutely precisely because our group affiliation is visibly obvious. Other than blacks, maybe Native Americans, but that's about it. And yes, Cameron and Ricky don't feel any of that experience, much of which is tied to being, not just Spanish-speaking, but black and or indigenous.

Which is why I get so damn annoyed when people try to sell the everyone has problems why do blacks complain bs.
If you are a gay white person you are still white. Yes it's awful to hide in the closet but at least you can hide.
If your last name is Silver and all you need to do to is change your name to Smith in order to be accepted to the larger fold that's also great. Learn english and change your name to Ramirez or shit in the case of Cruz just tie yourself tightly to the status qup and you're good.
I know this will sound nerdy but that was a large undertone of X-Men comparing the mutants like Xavier who yeah had internal struggles but could pass and live in peace if he chose to opposed to some like Beast or Night Crawler who had to hide in the shadows or be killed.
It's like our very physical appearance is so offensive it can only illicit fear and rage to some people

One of the most popular franchises of all time was influenced by historical black figures and their struggle

    Who woulda thunk it

I did always think the chant 'no more mutants!' sounded like 'no more ni&&ers' in the cartoon growing up.....

    It really is

I had no confirmation that Stan lee based his stuff on what was happening around him, but it felt pretty familiar

Remember the part in First Class where mystique tries so hard to hide her appearance, all the while not being able to focus on what she was doing (exercising)

Then magneto comes in with his malcom x swagger and tells her stop hiding her skin/hating the way she looked

I knew I liked that motherfucker for a reason

Lol real talk. Xavier was obviously MLK and Magneto was X. Opposing ways on how to achieve peace but still friends. That dude totally ripped off the civil rights movement and made it into a comic. Can't lie it was genius too bad it had little impact on race relations.

He took one people's struggle, made just about everyone white (or blue or green...anything but black) and turned it into a profit

If that doesn't scream kiss my ass, I don't know what does

He shoulda at least made Xavier and magneto black..be real son

    I just realized professor 'X'

That woulda been too obvious if he were the militant one

Stan lee was really fooling around with us

As if naming black heroes 'black whatever' wasn't enough

I'm surprised he didn't name beast Mandingo

Stan Lee was no idiot when it came to co-creating the X-Men. The issues of mutants and human beings had parallels of the Civil Rights Movement, like Leiji Matsumoto used the U.S. occupation in post war Japan as a model for Captain Phantom F. Harlock. However, the mutants had the advantage(if they had the courage to understand and use their abilities). Everyone can relate to the issue of being different. It took me a while back in the days to understand what they were all about. When the first film came out, I had developed a great deal of respect for them.
