It hasn't been made official, but it's looking good that my Bears will be hiring John Fox as their next Head Coach.

    I think it'll be a good thing.

I have a friend who says he'll stop rooting for the Bears if they hire John Fox because (and I'm so beyond sick of hearing this and it's only been said for like 3 days) "if he can't win a Superbowl with Peyton Manning, then why do we want him??"

Peyton Manning can't win a playoff game with Peyton Manning. LOL.

In either case, he'll be an improvement over our last couple of coaches.

I was pretty sure he wasn't the starting Inside backer, though I don't follow the colts that closely. According to Ourlads.com he was the backup ILB and they have been running primarily a 3-4 scheme all season. Practically the 4th inner linebacker on their depth chart. Shouldn't be much of an impact on the game.

That man got run out of Denver by an egomaniac General Manager (Elway). There is probably no former Head Coach out there with more respect than John Fox. I've never heard an ill word about him except that they didn't win this year. Amazing how 12 and 4 isn't enough for Elway. 20 teams would love to have that record today.

A coworker of mine asked if we had heard Elway's press conference on Monday when he started it by thanking himself. He IS an egomaniac.

There are a lot of Bears fans excited about this hire and a lot who aren't. But I think getting a veteran head coach is what my team needs right now, after the massive dysfunction of this past year.

Someone who will immediately have the players' respect and who knows how to keep their respect.

I'm excited for the future of my team. I think this is a very good hire.

No one in Chicago (that's including the McCaskeys, thank God) has any delusions about the kind of QB Cutler is...most of the fans want him gone by the new head coach.

But, with his contract, IF we're stuck with him another year, then we'll need a good coach that will take the pressure off of him and run the ball more.

Cutler is NOT an elite QB. He's a serviceable QB who shows glimpses of brilliance, but more glimpses of stupidity.

If the new coach HAS to keep him this year, then he would be wise to have him throw the ball the least amount of times as possible.

I'm just happy that our defense might make a turnaround finally.

I would LOVE to see Peanut Tillman come back as a coach. I think he would be a great addition to the defensive coaching staff.

Now, first order of business is he needs to fire Mel Tucker and Joe DeCamillis. Our defense and special teams were HORRIBLE the last couple of years.

Right O, then. I'm not sure of their line-up at all. From the descript on him, it says he had zero tackles in last week's game, with 20 under his belt. So yeah, he likely won't play.

Super excited for you and the bears bookie...fox is one of the most respected coaches in the league...he will be looking for a new QB to replace cutler

Elway is delusional...there is a reason why all these other coaches are interviewing and fox already has a job

Peyton was sacked a few too many times in the last few games...our defense was sleeping ...doesn't say much for the raiders taking del rio

I doubt if Peyton will come back...the entire coaching staff is going to turn over...the broncos will then be in a start over position

i agree broncos will be in the rebuild stage

Damn, you went with the Jeff George comparison?? That's stone cold brotha.

I can't imagine it being a full rebuild season after being 12 and 4. Too much talent on that roster. I will never believe that you need an elite QB to win a Super Bowl, but it helps. Championships can be won with a solid roster and a QB that just gets the job done. It's been proven SEVERAL times, regardless of how the media will spin it that you need elite QBs.

they let a good coach go....that elite qb is on his way out

Chicago has to build a entire defense pretty much from scratch peanut isn't done bookie he will play another2 or 3 years he will move inside and play safety,, spot on tho see him coaching db's very soon
Elway does have a ego but all great qb's do he is about to try remaking Denver on the fly and staying relevant with turnover coaches and a qb
Denver will win afc west 9-7 with him and playing more traditional

Seen cutler for 10 yrs still waiting to see a o lineman really care he just got ear holed lol,,, what's diff between him and George? Great talent bad body language bad leadership zero confidence he can lead men

I don't think you read what I stated. I stated I believe rebuilding requires more than replacing 2 players. Obviously there will be the usual free agents and cuts, but you can't say a team is in serious rebuild mode because they removed their coach and QB. It takes more than that on a 53 man roster.

    gotcha....
thats true....but letting a good coach go....not a good start. good coaches are really gard to come by. im not talking a tony dungy type (top notch) but a good one.

Did you just call dungy a great coach? If so you too easily impressed, me I saw a coach with a great ( regular season ) qb playing in a terrible division practically guareenteed 10 wins get to the play offs and choke
I will give you a very good coach and that's being generous him being a good dude is beside the fact saw tacky ass dry ass b belicheck out coach him far to many times
Dungy refused to adapt and coach anything other than cover 2 the game moved past that 10 yrs b4 he retired
