Deadpool the game sucks ass for ps3

Don't waste your money...it's not even worth the bargain bin price

In other news, playstation now is expected to have a subscription model like netflix, where you stream games for 20 dollars a month

Like netflix tho, i wouldn't expect new releases to be streamed, as those are premium items and companies want you to pay more for them

Scarlett Johansson Signs On to Star in DreamWorks’ ‘Ghost in the Shell’

    From Variety.com.

Following the success of “Lucy,” Scarlett Johansson looks ready to take on another action pic, this one coming from the world of Japanese anime.

Johansson is set to star in DreamWorks’ adaptation of the popular anime pic “Ghost in the Shell.” Deadline Hollywood had reported that the actress had the offer to star but at the time she was still undecided about taking the role. Sources now say she has agreed to star in the pic.

The story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.

Rupert Sanders is on board to direct. Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing the film from a script by Bill Wheeler. Mark Sourian is exec producing.

Insiders also tell Variety that Paramount has the option to come on as co-producer and financier and that decision is expected in the coming weeks.

DreamWorks principal Steven Spielberg is a huge fan of the original and has long wanted to get this film off the ground. A commitment from a star like Johansson should help in getting the pic greenlit for production.

Besides Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence, Johansson is becoming one of the few actresses in town with the clout to get a project greenlit on her name alone.

“Lucy” made $394 million worldwide and Johansson can be seen next in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” bowing in May. Johansson has also done a nice job of balancing action-heavy tentpoles with serious dramas and comedies.

She received rave reviews for Spike Jonze’s “Her” and is a part of the ensemble of the Coen brothers’ next pic “Hail, Caesar!” She is repped by CAA and LBI Entertainment.

Ghost in the shell needs to remain in anime. I can't see it being done well in live action and requires a good strong female actor. Scarlet is not that. and hollywood doesn't like strong female actors.

You know they have to appeal to the all American Jethro & Ellie May base to fill seats and get that green. Besides the hillbilly set don't like reading subtitles or reading period for that matter. That's like doing extra work with no bonus pay for them.

That's what gets me. Ghost in the shell is complex. It won't go over too well with the general audience. Just another reason why it won't go too well.

Meh...the space angle was still there lol

But yeh I remember the internets exploding with insanity when the film makers wanted to get rid of the mutant aspect altogether

    Lol

It has less to do with keeping in line with the anime and more to do with not excluding people of color from prominent roles

It's a sad reality but at least sony was honest about racial dynamics

Ghost In The Shell was a very complex anime. For it to be a live-action film, I don't know. The anime stood by its own merits. I love watching Scarlet Johansson. But if they want to get an actress to play Matoko, they should cast Natassia Malthe(from BloodRayne: The Third Reich). There are Japanese actresses(who also speak English like Ayako Fujitani, Steven Seagal's daughter) who could play the part, too.

Anime does not often translate very well in live action. Of course, there have been a few exceptions like 8Man, Sanctuary, WitchBlade, City Hunter(Jackie Chan)Perfect Blue(it was said that Black Swan was a remake of it) and Space Battleship Yamato.

I'm waiting for Cowboy Bebop and Captain Harlock to be made into a live-action films. But I doubt that will ever happen. The film Van Helsing was modeled after Vampire Hunter D.

It was said that the Hughes Brothers are working on Akira and Wolfgang Petersen is working on a live-action version of Ponyo.

Like everything in life, we'll have to see...if we are willing to watch.

WitchBlade's actually based off of an American comic book, so the weeaboos of the world wanted an anime take on it...and...it's comical at best. So if anything, the source material is American.

I thought it was Japanese. But, I do recall the show back in the 90's(actress Yancey Butler, I think, was the star until she got arrested for drunk driving). The Japanese made an anime of it and then a live-action film. Thanks for the clarification.

There was an anime version of it, but it's based on the American comic book superheroine of the same name. As for the origins, Image Comics and Top Cow Productions were the creators behind it...and Image Comics brought you Spawn, Savage Dragon, Witchblade, The Darkness, Invincible, The Walking Dead, Saga, Chew, and Haunt. After DC and Marvel, Image Comics is a very successful comic book company.
