So much stuff, I have a big digital collection, with the classics, hendrix, stones etc... Stoner rock bands, similar to Queens of the stone age. I like a lot of psychedelic rock too. Some new bands like tame impala and so on. Haha so much stuff, I even have a small vinyl collection. What about you?

Just to name a few: Tool, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, Ozzy, KMFDM, Ladytron, Apoptygma Berzerk, Mind.In.A.Box, Rammstein, How To Destroy Angels, Bjork, Jane's Addiction, Porno For Pyros, Sublime, 311, Massive Attack, Tricky, Marilyn Manson, Tori Amos, Frontline Assembly, The Birthday Massacre, Rage Against the Machine, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, Wolfsheim, Android Lust, Ministry, Switchblade Symphony...

 

The Clash, hands down. However, I like too many to only have just one. I also like Fishbone, the Hours, Joy Division, Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, the Specials, Portishead, Massive Attack, the Jam, the Style Council, Pulp, the Verve, Sublime, St. Etienne, the Smiths, The The, the Pretenders, Big Audio Dynamite, Massive Attack, Aterciopelados, Cafe Tacuba, Fabulosos Cadillacs, Najwajean, Marlango, Aston, the Good, the Bad and the Queen and many, many, more.

 

Are you eastern European? I listen to some stuff you said too. Rage against the machine sounds like my teenage years haha I really like 80's music as well, but sometimes it's not rock, Depeche mode is pretty good.

 

Since you like Joy Division, do you like New Order? I like all the stuff you listed and that I know/heard before. Have you heard Tricky before? You might like him since you listed Massive Attack (twice ) and Portishead. He's more trip hop though. Earlier today I posted a bunch of his videos under the music video thread. You may wanna check him out if you don't know him.

 

LOL @ 2XMassive Attack. I sadlw them live a few years ago - it was a great show. I love New Order as well. I was just trying to type a variety of bands from different styles of music to cover as many bases as possible. I think Tricky is great as well. I really liked his cover of "Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos" by Public Enemy.

 

Yessir, born and raised in Poland, which is where I got into bands like Rage Against the Machine (their first album), Beastie Boys (Ill Communication), The Red Hot Chilli Peppers (One Hot Minute), before I moved to the U.S. of A.

Have you heard of this newer, and not as mainstream, Canadian band called The Birthday Massacre? It's also a band with an awesome female lead singer, but their sound may be slightly heavier than Evanescence's. Definitely one of my favorite bands. Have seen them live every time they'd played in South Florida. They put on awesome live shows.

Only time I listened to it was when my friend would pay it in his Jeep. We'd drive around the island getting weird looks from the locals. Good times.

Yeah, digital made music collecting much easier. My former roommate had a SICK vinyl collection, but I don't have 20 years to collect like that. Totally down with Queens...

I'll have to check out Birthday Massacre, that is new to me. Love me some Rage back in the day, and Depeche Mode... any day. Tried to get into but never saw the appeal of Sublime or Tori Amos; think it's more of a cult thing. Jane's Addiction are legends. Actually dug some of Rammstein's shit and Massive Attack are huge to me. I consider them more electronic than rock, but whatev.

I have a stupid long story about the Ill Communication album that most would probably find boring. Simply put, If people don't respect Beastie I don't respect them.

I played in several bands locally after college to some cash over the Winter months. Back in 2008 I played bass for Cathexis. A metal band that been around for twenty years, in drop-D tuning.

Great group of musicans, after learning a 30 song catalog and co-wrote three new songs I left the band after nine months.
