I'll look for the video clip. A guy in the park caught it as the guy was waving the gun at him as well. Petty, you're right. It's impossible (damned near) to show race was the motivating factor b/c you have to show intent based on race. Training has a lot to do with it as well, but a societal propensity to view black men as subhuman and monstrous cannot be helpful.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...stop-thought-cane-gun-video-article-1.1721404 The link TDK posted goes more in line with the john Crawford shooting Same scenario where witnesses were frightened by someone who supposedly had a gun, but did not actually threaten the police with it (unless the white guy actually did point his gun at the cops and still managed to get a talk down) John Crawford was immediately mowed down The white guy from tdk link was not Could be racial...could be a difference in departments, since these shootings aren't happening by the same group of officers If the same group were just lighting blacks up and giving whites second and third chances...obvious discrimination Im inclined to rely on wishful thinking, so sue me
Not that anyone gives a damn Just a silly white boy no one cares about Yet white people were marching for mike brown Funny http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/10/...rder-to-remove-hands-from-waistband/comments/
I'm against over-policing and excessive criminalization of society regardless of the race. Officers don't mind whipping up on a poor white kid, either.
I'm derailing a thread about another black kid being shot Sorry Guess I'll have to make another separate thread for non black victims, that no one will post in Ever Just tell the non blacks to get away from the #blacklivesmatter movement, because blacks don't give two hot shits about them for real
Petty strikes again. Lol. Seriously, though, I think it's because of the imbalance in who the incidents happen to and the obvious social disparities. One of the reasons I'm a Marxist, not a Black Nationalist, lmao.
There's a definite imbalance No ones gunna argue that Gotdamn national pastime The skin is a helluva drug
I try to be sympathetic on both sides but never did this at twelve. That's why I pointed to his upbringing. I don't think most 12 year olds do this who come from a good upbringing.
I think people see it now as a thing of hey even though it happens to blacks more so whites....it can happen to me....fuck it im marching too
Prepare to be castrated in.... 5 4 3..... Dead on I've seen every color marching down streets with black empowerment signs It's like treating a patient Focus on the severe wounds first, then treat the other wounds People are really getting fed up and the government needs to take notice But fuck it...with Black Friday tomorrow and 300 dollar ps4s, who gives a shit
True, true. But injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. I've noticed online how many other countries have people posting similar scenes: Hong Kong, Mexico, etc. Word? I'll pick one up. Buying Junior an X-Box One tomorrow as well. There goes my money, lol.
no, I know most people didn't do this. also black friday is going to be interesting that time of year where people get hurt for property.
I would tend to think that Tamir was pointing the gun at people he knew from the neighborhood the majority of the time . . . but that is just a hunch. There was absolutely no reason to drive up on him like that and shoot him on sight as Tamir was sitting all alone and not in the act of commiting any crime at the time they arrived nor was he placing anyone in peril. They should have parked on the street and advanced on foot to better evalutate the situation as there was no imminent danger. This point has been repeatedly made by several commentatorts on MSNBC, CNN and even Fox News yesterday afternoon.
No...but the mission is on to vilify his family and shed light on his upbringing.. ...you know...shit that has nothing to do with the actual shooting The fix is IN
We will be having a gun show this weekend at the Hampton Coliseum. I will be buying weapons for home and personal defense. I will be looking around me to see how many 12 to 14 year olds (or just young people) who will be walking out of there with their parents with the weapons in full view. Down here in Virginia in the rural areas it's not unusual to see a young person out with a gun in full view with an adult of course hunting. By the way, what has the NRA had to say about this unfortunate incident of the 12 year old being killed by the police?
I agree about the police approach. I've never seen police approach the way that they did. The kid did not have the toy gun out when they approached him.
It was very awkward as they had their holiday team on yesterday . . . you know the people who you only see on weekends and holidays. They didn't really want to commit one way or another they tried to just report the story in a way but they discussed procedure concerning the dispatcher not reporting about the possibly fake gun and the one white guy (it was two whites and a latina lawyer named Mercedes) who was the guest speaker solemnly stated that police have to train in non-lethal ways of resolving such events so these tragedies don't occur with such frequency
