http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/11/cleveland_police_officer_shoot_6.html Remember this is an open carry state . so why was he shot obeying the law?
I didn't read the story or watch the vid (because I prefer to make conclusions with absolutely nothing to go on - trolling 101) but one of the comments left said the kid decided to go for his gun when the cop confronted him IF that's the case this goes wayyyyyy beyond 'getting shot obeying the law' lol
I'm on my iPad so I don't know to post pics with this shit But Look at the first pic in this article http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2014/11/23/3596076/cleveland-12-year-old-shooting/ 'Toy' guns are looking too much like the real thing How is a cop supposed to know if it's real or fake before getting shot? Bottom line...get these toys OUT of your kids hands
According the tv news report he never raised the gun. This is the same state that shot the guy in walnart. Also dont know what time of the day but you cant tell its a kid
The report I decided to read (because reading really is fundamental) says that the cops ordered the boy to raise his hands, then opened fire when the boy decided to go for his 'toy' instead So Either the boy didn't go for the gun or he did, which one is it And please don't let this kid be black and the cops white
Lol.... So did the cop see a gun? Did the cop realize he was young? According to the article he didnt act aggressive. He was also notified that it couldve been a toy....so to me its very grey but he couldve done things better but thats arm cgair qb-ing
He said he reached in his waist....so...a grown ass man got shot reaching for his wallet Again its a 12 year old they are gonna fuck up. Trust me ....im a dad. You cant expect much from a kid in a peaceful situation....what u expect from this in this type of situation. Then again does the kid have a criminal record
reports are never that great. Look at the walmart incident. You could say that the cop told the man with a gun to put the gun down. He did not put the gun down and the cop fired. The video tape showed he barely had time to comply. We need cameras every where nowadays. Does this said officer have a body camera?
What's the REAL holdup with these bodycams NYPD defo needs them...those guys lead the way in brutality
I remember when a toy manufacturer called Intertech released commercials on tv about their products. Their tagline was: "The Look! The Feel! The Sound! So Real!..." These toy guns were, indeed, replicas of the real guns that are still manufactured to this day. And a kid was shot to death by police and criminals were using them in robberies. The company had to alter their design by leaving the barrel of the toy guns orange or yellow to let cops know that they are toys. The company went out of business and their competitors took over making approved versions. I don't think that kids today have learned that lesson about toy guns and police yet. It is so damned sad that this young boy didn't learn, too.
A big part of the problem in my humble opinion is that the cops seem to have only one tool in their toolbox these days: lethal force.
I remember yearning for a day when my multicolored, shitty design toy water pistol would actually look like a real gun, because face it....real gun designs are cool and it's the American way to love em lol I never ever ever thought about having a cop mowing me down over one tho I can understand the hesitation with using a stun device on a fully grown buck of a male. Those things look flimsy as fuck and I don't know if I'd want that to be the deciding factor in whether I live or die BUT the kid was freaking TWELVE, so I'm sure something non lethal would have put him on his ass The cops are just completely jackbooted
