I think this is a fantastic idea for both the public and the police, but like most other things, it's only going to be effective with judicious and honest use. Cameras don't lie, but people do.
Pretty much Some people went out on a limb and suggested that cams be directly uploaded to a cloud based system for public viewing It sounds fun and righteous until you realize the harm you may do to victims that may prefer not to have their domestic disputes on the web for the world to see Don't forget about the privacy of your home and cops streaming everything inside of it
Why public viewing? Just keep it within law enforcement agencies. Still have to worry about hackers but at least everything isn't accessible to just anyone.
Why direct, unedited public viewing? That's simply because it's been proven, time and time and time again, that law enforcement/criminal justice as a whole is dealing with an element of corruption which has yet to be purged from their ranks You really can not expect the subject of corruption and brutality to police themselves That defies logic
Well then if unedited public viewing is the answer, I guess people who engage in criminal activity (including domestic violence) deserve for the world to invade their privacy. Maybe it will make more people think twice if they don't want to be on the 6:00 news or going viral on YT. There's a downside to both procedures. Which is the lesser of two evils?
What about the victims tho who would.........rather not have their coworkers know that their spouse likes to play golf with their head God imagine all the workplace drama
Like I said, I guess someone has to choose which of the two procedures is the lesser of two evils. Who that someone is, I wouldn't want to have to decide.

Still not having reading it fully....when it comes to victims of domstic abuse there are way to naintain privacy its the hackers to worry about. I agree on the issue police editing shit....hard and should not trust everyone
this is one of the concerns facing citizen advocates We already know of recent incidents where law enforcement failed to enforce the law It's kind of ironic and sad at the same time, when you begin to realize that even the police need to be policed

The female victim, identified in a police report as Becca Campbell, 26, was a passenger in a car involved in an auto accident. Her 33-year-old boyfriend was driving, the sources told CNN. The boyfriend, who wasn't identified, told police that the couple had bought a gun because of fears of unrest related to the pending grand jury decision on the shooting of Michael Brown, the sources said. He told investigators that as they drove late Friday night, the victim waved a gun, jokingly saying the couple were ready for Ferguson, the sources said. He ducked to get out of the way of the gun and accidentally rear-ended another car. He said the accident caused the gun to go off and she was struck by a bullet in the head, the sources said. The victim was rushed to a hospital but died. The investigation is continuing because police want to be sure the story as told by the boyfriend is correct, the sources said. Police are awaiting gun trace results, as part of the ongoing investigation.
