I think the issue of virginity is about moral temperament in his case. If a cop is a virgin, and he(or she)is devoutly religious, or a virgin by choice, that cop would be able to resist temptation and do the job quite well.

 

You forgo the fact that this virginity nonsense only applies to female cops

 

And men should also be held to this standard.

Physically? I do not know because I am not a doctor. But for a man to be tested if he is indeed a virgin in Indonesia, the tester would visit the man's home and interview his family, if he lives at home, or visit his place of worship, interview friends or us a polygraph. Indonesia is, of course different than the states. And I do believe that religion has a big influence there as well as it is here in this country.

How would you test a male to see if he is a virgin?

Years ago, there was a guy in New York who would pay any man or woman $10,000.00(or more) if they remained virgins until after they were married. He was called The Virgin Hunter and he made a name for himself on the talk show circuit in the mid-80's.

In SE Asia(as with the rest of the world), virginity for women is important to the woman's identity. And this ritual would ensure that the woman remains a virgin. Such matters are not important in this country but they are in others.
