Not necessarily. They're based off the complexity of the visit not necessarily volume. Someone seeing 10 level 4 patients could essentially make what someone seeing 20 level 2 visits sees. Depends on contracts and rvu rates obviously, I'm just giving examples. The government cracks down big time on up coding so only idiots would be doing that to fatten their pockets. Again, I agree that the cost of care should be reasonable but I hate bashing the doctors in our efforts to voice dissatisfaction over the healthcare market.
I'm not bashing doctors just the way they are incentivized and how much that hurts the people they are suppose to help. You can treat my cancer tell me that I'm lucky to be alive but then leave with a bill that's impossible to pay which will leave me homeless and sick again.
There are options for those who cannot afford coverage (aca, state funded programs). If seniors have Medicare and can't afford their co-insurance they can apply for the state funded program as a secondary which will pick up that co ins for them. Those who truly can't afford coverage have options. Those of us who can afford coverage should spend our time researching our options for both regular and catastrophic. Until medicine is no longer a business, this is what we're stuck with. Reimbursements are changing, the ways in which we're paid are changing...let's see the effect those changes have on the cost and quality of healthcare.
Lol Oh it's a business alright Constantly reminded of that Wharton grads are somehow finding their way into the organization I'm still shocked that people have to pay out of pocket for fucking dialysis What's the alternative? A slow death due to renal failure? Gotdamn
Like you said, it's like a racket I can't get a prescription that I know I need, because I don't want to fork over money to visit a doctor with a problem I know I have Some medications are way past due to be sold over the counter, but they're holding onto them to make people spend money on unnecessary visits where you go to a doc, tell them ur sick and request a medication that they'll gladly write a script for without even evaluating you What's the point of paying a copay if docs are doing nothing but being a middle man I bet people wish Tylenol and aspirin still required doc visits lol
Exactly but we're still suppose to revere the profession. I know there are good and bad doctors alike but it seems like the system is forcing more and more greedy drug mules than actual healers. Fuck "alternative" medicine (funny how shit that's worked for thousands of years is an alternative now) just pay me. I don't care if you don't have it, I don't care if your kids have to eat spam for a year fucking pay me because I need a yacht for my mistress. Like I said its fucking gross.
unfortunately most people don't find this shit out until they're too weak to fight back because they're sick. Worst of all our decisions makers could care less because they're healthcare is paid by all us peons.
Just start auctioning off organs for transplants and medications Fuck it If ur gonna be throwed off with healthcare, at least do it 100
Real fucking talk but unfortunately by the time you're desperate enough to sell off organs you're too sick to have any viable organs left. Don't get it twisted this shit is truly the damn Hunger Games.
