Funny how 'talking about race' usually means talking about new shit whites are doing to blacks and not the other way around, as if blacks are never hateful towards whites

    Again

    Cut the crap

Be fair and make that knife cut both ways

We are hundreds of years off from that even potentially being a 'fair' conversation. America's racial history is dominated by white on black violence based solely on skin color. We have transitioned as a country from white on black violence being the norm to 'far too frequent'. I do not think whites can say 'blacky is holding me back' or 'due to the conditions created by segregation which existed in some of our lifetimes and certainly all of our parents lifetime against us by black people, we are outraged at further acts of injustice toward our people'.

This is not to say that black on white violence does not exist. It just doesn't have the same history and therefore sting to it. Is it fair? Well, there's a lot of unfairness that has to be explored before we can really answer that.

The unfortunate reality is that WW dating BM are going to have to accept that some BM are more than abs and dick. Some of us still care about our communities and our conditions, and therefore the conditions that will exist for the children that we bear.

    I have a thread topic... actually 2.

    - Can white women date black men and show indifference or disinterest to issues concerning black people as a whole?

    conversely;

    - Can black men date white women and show indifference or disinterest to issues concerning white people as a whole?

I think the shitty titles and the way certain things are communicated are the biggest issues. Like Bookie said, in some cases it may not be a person's intention to come across as anti-white, but the poor choice of wording makes it sound that way. Better communication and remembering one's audience make for better and more open discussions on any given topic. That goes for all of us.

I know more sensitive topics typically bring more emotional responses and can make people more guarded when talking about them, but it would be better for all of us (both genders) if we'd remember that we're all in this together. Even with the things we may not have experienced ourselves, we can still offer our support to one another. It's hard to have an open discussion when people feel like they're walking on eggshells all the time.

We do have a few questionable individuals running around the board, but thankfully they are by no means the majority. I've decided to quit letting the Jethros & Jethrines with bad attitudes & messed up views bother me.

Tsk-tsk at that last line. :p

Huh? I missed those threads. Nowadays I just tune them out or maybe they got removed. You got to learn to do that to survive on this forum. Even the threads I do pick, I come out insulted before I even posted anything lol. I just say F it. I'm not going to even post.

He has got a point.I can't think of examples but it does seem like when people are offended than they complain but if it is at the cost of others than well it is what it is. I am not agreeing with this particular example since I have not seen it.

Has anyone else noticed that we don't have black women and white men come here much anymore? They used to join in order to mess up the harmony...my guess is they thought we were having too much fun...loving each other too much...now there is no need...as a group (not pointing any fingers) we have ruined our own site...

No it really doesn't because white people in general can rest assured any black mofo who does some shit to them will most definitely go to jail and more than likely get the highest penalty possible, where as we have to deal with the fact that anyone cop or citizen can kill us and our families and in a lot of cases not only go free but get public financial support for it. It really doesn't cut both ways, just like if a woman said they had to worry about rape more than men. Yes men may have to worry about it too but no even close to the way a woman has to worry about it.

No, they aren't causing the recent stir. That wasn't my point. See Tam's response below for the point I was trying to make by bringing those two threads up.

A few months ago, I mentioned that there was a prevalent anti-white sentiment happening on this board. I got ripped a new one for that.

But, now...now, others are FINALLY seeing what I've been seeing for months.

So, it's more than just a single person's perception. I'm going to leave this thread, at least, content in knowing that at least I'm not alone in thinking what I've been thinking for several months now.

"Black" topics don't have to be uncomfortable for the WW to engage in, but some, and I emphasize some, of the men here make it uncomfortable for WW to participate in because of the prevailing subtle and sometimes not-so-subtle anti-white sentiment in those threads.

I read through those threads and I can't help but think sometimes that white people are damned if we do, damned if we don't.

It's very frustrating to feel that way when we're all supposed to "be in this together".

That was exactly my point when bringing up those threads. Not only were they even on here, but they were in a place that any random non-member could see.

It DEFINITELY is giving the wrong impression, popular or not.
