Why not? They refuse to cooperate with him on almost anything that's beneficial the American people and they'll keep doing it because apparently their actions have no consequences. They can be as obtuse as they want to be and still keep their jobs apparently.

Well I hope its a positive one because honestly I am tired of feeling so hopeless for the future. My personal situation is good (knock on wood) but I don't want to see my people (humans) suffer unnecessarily just because a few assholes want a new yacht while millions starve.

 

I knew something was up when people refused the idea of a truly universal healthcare system, which can be found in other competitive countries

Instead of working together to come up with a singular solution, everyone took repeated shots as to why it wouldn't be 'right'

Exactly and you have a shit ton of people complaining about it and blaming Obama yet have absolutely no clue how government works. The president is not a king, Obamacare wouldn't be what it is without shitty people in congress,
These same assholes want to cut education and other "entitlement" programs but won't touch an over bloated military budget that's bigger than every other major country's budget combined. Its truly only one party pushing this shit.

Growing GOP momentum has strengthened Republican challengers in tight Senate races — including Alaska, Colorado and Iowa — and bolstered the prospect of expanding the party's House majority, as the number of competitive contests pushes deeper into Democratic-held territory, including Las Vegas and California.

But unlike a conventional wave election that swamps members of a single party, Tuesday's results could bring a more mixed showing, as Republicans fight to protect Senate seats in the strongholds of Kansas, Georgia and Kentucky and governorships in several states, including Maine, Georgia, Florida and Wisconsin.

For their part, Democrats are battling to keep the governor's office in the blue bastions of Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and here in Colorado, where John Hickenlooper easily won four years ago.

People are pissed off finally and are doing something about it.

Sounds more like musical chairs to me. Real change needs to be protesting in the streets and to stop supporting corporate greed. Sacrifice the 20% "savings" and buy from local stores who have a vested interest in the damn community.

 

It's a start...and I'll take it.

Something has to change. If new blood doesn't do it, then plan B is in order.


It gives me hope that people have awakened even if just barely.

 

Whether you're red or blue, it's two sides to the same damn coin. Politics are like watching a sport, people blindly and dogmatically cheer for the Elephants or the Donkeys. Two party system is a system that serves to further the same capitalistic agenda while keeping those who might oppose it (it being government which is comprised of the two partys) divided. Essentially, we're moving from Plan A to Plan A. Plan B kicks in when we drop our allegiance to either team.,. er., party, and rise up in opposition to the government together.

I wonder; what change can we as a people expect from the Republicans?

I soooo wish the Occupy Wall Street movement had succeeded.

 

Voting in California is fun but also anti-climactic because less than 30% of the electorate are registered Republicans. If you don't vote for any candidates, for the love of Christ at least pick a referendum or two as a means for exercising your franchise.

Jeanne Shaheen won in New Hampshire, I guess Scott Brown's past as an underwear model only holds so much elasticity.

My man Clay Aiken lost his House race again. He really needs to kill the Chucky doll look.

 

If you look at the political geography, Democrats were looking to hang on to the Senate in states that Obama largely lost in 2008 and 2012. This is less a referendum on Obama's presidency than the pre-existing political divide between red and blue.
