I had coworkers who literally never took sick days or vacation

 

Wow. I can understand sick days if ypu dont get sick...but vacation days? Come on now.

 

Seriously anytime I get like 2 or 3 days in the bank, I take it

I cash mine out lol. I get 5.5 weeks vacation each year and every couple months I'd cash out anything over a base of like 55 hrs. I will still take a day here or there but I don't take it as fast as I earn it.

 

I do the same thing...extend my holiday weekends ...or just shorten up a work week...sick days and vacation days are the same...earned PTO

4 - 10 hour days are a bitch but come friday morning

 

I used to do 4 10s a week too, when i worked 'third herd'

I loved three day weekends

Don't fuck up and make me work a weekend either

Then I'd be looking at 4 days off straight on that following weekend

Nothin but butta

That got changed around tho because people would call out sick before their 4 day weekend and be MIA the whole week

It's simply a case of, "You don't work, you don't get paid." When I worked at my last job, we used to get paid for vacations. But then, we could not take any vacations until after the holidays and not when you wanted to. When we couldn't get paid for vacations, something was wrong there. And because my job was at a church, and that the church could do whatever it wanted, we could do nothing about it. Sick days? Not a chance. Jury Duty, definitely.
