I have to wonder if things would have been different if he had complied

He shouldn't have to comply. Just because a cop says to jump, you don't have to jump.

I have to wonder if things would have been different if the cops were required to comply with the laws that they're employed to enforce.

Yes, in Indiana, by law they do have the right to ask for ID.

You know why I think he shouldn't comply? Because I fucking hate cops. Plain and simple. A badge should not grant one human being any authority over another when it comes to basic human rights.

You could hear the lady on the video repeatedly state that she did not feel safe in the presence of the pigs, and as a citizen of this *cough*great country*cough* that should NEVER be unless you have committed a crime. Driving without a seat belt is not an acceptable criminal act in this case.

But yeah, you're right. Dude was acting like a tough guy until they broke that window AND used a weapon against him. Neither of which were called for in this case, IMO.

Have you ever been pulled over? And if so, did you comply, or no?

Not the same in this case.

Have I been pulled over for violating traffic laws? Yes.
    Did I provide ID? Yes.

Have I ever been requested to get out of the vehicle for no reason? No.
Have I ever been requested to provide identification as a passenger? No.

Oh, and for the record, according to the first video he did attempt to give them identification.

Not the tasering. No way. Tasers are very dangerous IMO.

But complying with their request to exit the car is acceptable, and for her to try to drive off like she did before the tasering, is asking for a reaction. Its not an unreasonable request by them, he had no ID... and it has come out now that he has previously given fake ins papers to cops which he was charged with. He should have told them that. My exbf had a suspended licence and told the cop straight up and the cop told him he appreciated his honesty.
I also was stopped while driving with my hubby in NJ and accused of driving a stolen vehicle (it wasnt) and they told me to exit my vehicle, handcuffed me and put me in the cruiser, took ume (us) to the station and I sat until they learned the dispatcher ran my plate numbers incorrectly. No apology from them either. I pretty much KNOW if I refused to comply, the story outcome would be quite different

He wasn't even driving...there was no need to fuck with him...let alone bust out the window and taze him in front of his children.

Maybe it's me but it seems like the cops could have handled that a lot better.

I heard on the news he knew he had no licence ID on him because it was confiscated on a previous charge of providing false papers which he is inbthe middle of fighting. In hindsight probably best to just be honest on what the deal was.

The other day, my fav soul singer Tank was pulled over in LA for driving while on a cell phone. The cop asked to see his licence....Tank refused to comply. He was arrested, booked and jailed until bailed. Why go though all that? For what? I generally don't push my luck with American cops.. They are too trigger happy IMO.

I agree with you. Tasering should be only if someone has agressive actions.. tasers can still kill. He could have had an adverse reaction, and you are right, the kids ( they were hers)had to witness it....the cops did over react, that is not in dispute. Im just glad he wasn't shot or worse, killed. He lives to hash it out in court with them. Which is how it should be.. no one should be harmed over a traffic stop.

So now you're backtracking by admitting the cops reaction was fucked up.

    C'mon now....Charlie...or should I say Charles.

Nah, my feelings toward cops alone isn't reason that I don't have to comply. I don't have to comply because I have free will, and just because some asshole having a badge does not take that away.

In other words, I don't HAVE to do shit. I choose to, you pigs would do well to learn that.
