Damn. It's a shame they had to break the law to get benefits. The military should extend those benefits to same-sex couples so nothing like this would happen.
The laws definitely need to change. It's infuriating that gay/lesbian couples aren't afforded the same rights as heterosexual couples, but they still shouldn't have broken the law. Can't move forward by taking steps backwards. They're accountable for their actions, no matter how justified they may feel they were.
I agree. It's a damn shame that people like to echo those words of equality, but HATE the idea of putting it into practice because they feel entitled to something in return.
