Whenever someone dies, no matter how they were in life, they automatically become a wonderful person.

But, when I see celebrities tear up and so many say over and over and over again what a wonderfully, kind man he was, it's hard not to believe that as truth. It's a real shame.

He is clearly sorely missed by many...the best thing that can out of this is that depression is very very serious...he had a wonderful family, friends and career yet his mind was filled with darkness

I know that some people believe that if you commit suicide that you go to hell...but I can't help but wonder that god understands that you need him now more than ever in after life

I have a girlfriend that committed suicide when we were in our early 20s...I am certain that she is with god and one of my angels

I have not been personally touched with suicide, but I, too, cannot believe that God would send people to Hell for that.

I was on a Yahoo group (that's how old it is) about supernatural things. One of the main women on there allegedly helped people cross over. Anyway, she said that Hell is only reserved for demons. She said that every human goes to Heaven, but some people, depending on what they did in life, will have to spend more time getting their souls cleansed - kind of like Purgatory. Having that knowledge makes me feel better. But it's something that I won't know the truth (obviously) until I die.

I'm sure your friend is watching over you right now.

I saw an article online today that said that his wife revealed that Robin was suffering from Parkinson's Disease. He must've caught the early stages of the disease and that made him depressed. He didn't want to go public with this. He wanted to go on making the world laugh until he reached 100. But with this, I am sure he wanted to distinguish to the audience the difference between performance and pain. Even if it was all that he had to give.

That is sad since that was one of the reasons why he ended his life. Also,a man who gave so much to a lot of people felt he could not be helped himself.

I heard that too as most have, but not sure it isn't to salvage his memory, particularly since there was no suicide note, and there is the genuine issue of upticks in copycat suicides, which is common, especially among younger people.

I recall the accident of the drummer for the band Def Leopard. He was high on drugs and wanted to take on the world and do whatever he wanted to do, including driving a sports car at a high speed. The result; a terrible crash and the loss of his arm. He had suffered and it was a wake-up call. He cleaned up and is still playing with an electronic drum set.

The suicide death of Kurt Cobain left many(like myself) to question if it was really a suicide. Kurt was riding high. He was young and his band Nirvana helped usher in the grunge sound of Seattle rock. But despite it all, Kurt had problems only he could know.

Singer Wendy O. Williams killer herself because she felt that the world was becoming more and more depressing. She had enjoyed rock stardom.

Singer-songwriter Nick Cave took his own life as he was enjoying his success.

Copycat suicides among young people are tragic and shocking. But it doesn't stop at the death of a beloved celebrity. It is other issues like outside pressures.

In the 90's, Japan had a problem with youth suicides resulting from bullying and it became a national problem. This is because of the country's educational system being so strict.

I think what is important(and I am speaking from experience) is for people who are suffering, to have someone to go to talk to. That person must listen to the person's troubles...without prejudice or feeling the need to "add their two cents in." This person doesn't need a sermon. This person just wants someone to listen to them. They want to get it out of them. They hope to be understood. If only one person understood the troubled person's situation, the troubled person could live another day.

I'm also saddened by his death. He was a great actor, esp. when he played that blue genie from Disney's Aladdin, even though that was just yet the umpteenth Disney adaption of a pre-existing outside party property they never had their hands on creating and would prefer it if they made more original IPs.
