I am not a soccer fan but was intrigued by the result of the Germany/Brazil match yesterday and how awful it went for the host nation.

I believe that Brazil went into the game believing that no matter how well they played the end result was going to be a defeat. Since their best offensive (Neymar) and defensive (Thiago Silva) players were not available, they mentally didn't stand a chance. Physically these are the best soccer players in the world and any game can go either way, but it doesn't matter when you are mentally weak.

And who knows, perhaps you make Neymar and Silva available and Germany still prevails? The way Brazil lost though (7-1) was inexcusable and it speaks to how easily we give up because something is perceived as difficult, if not insurmountable.

I'm studying difficult (for me) math with the goal of initiating a career change and will succeed, but not without significant bumps along the way. I don't care about any of that. In fact I welcome it with open arms, knowing that anything attempting to halt my progress will be crushed.

    Never give up. Fuck that.

I recall the days of the New York Cosmos. The best soccer team in the world at that time. The three main players were Pele, Franz Beckenbauer, and Kanaldia(or Canaldia. I do not remember his first name). But the main man was Pele. Pele was in one film called Victory with Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine and Max Von Sydow(the film where he plays a POW who single-handedly hands the Nazis their asses while his arm was broken near the climax of the film) Pele to this day, is considered a God in Brazil. Brazil's loss to Germany is bad but let's face it; you can't win them all. Every person or team will have their time in the sun and another will replace them.

I am but have found free online resources to be more useful. It's a wide range of subjects that are covered from basic probability to multivariate probability with all the attendant calculus.

    Appreciate it.

Dude you dont understand the game so just leave it at that. You think the Brazilians gave up before the game started just because they lost Neymar and Silava? Did you actually listen to the coach , players and fans before the game?

Personally I hate fucken challenge and I dont embrace or welcome it at all but that does not mean I give up easy. If I want something really bad and there is significant value in it for me, then I don't give two fucks what the challenge is and I will fucken destroy that shit by all means necessary of with all I got and some to get to the end zone.
