Not fucked up in the head. They're just assuming that they could have more and focus on what the other person has and what they don't have because they believe what one has elevates who they are. And that is the trap that just about everyone falls into. It is not about WHO you are but WHAT you have.
I'm the same way. All I really need enough to live comfortably and to knock out these student loans. I don't need a a whole lot of money for that, just a bit more than what I have now.
Exactly. Just a little bit more. Enough to not be nagged by constant dread of the future and be able to do my bit for the little one and enjoy a little peace. Once I'm happy, I don't need much in terms of material.
And the insane thing is what you want and deserve would be attainable if a few greedy ass mofos weren't so hung up on doing whatever they could do to get 1000 times more than they needed.
There's always someone who is the picture of excess. Or in the case of modern consumer society, almost everyone...
That is the dumbest shit I've ever heard come from either one of you. Put me any where on earth and I'm gonna earn because that's what I do, it's in my dna. NY Cali Miami where ever. So your confidence shouldn't have anything to do with your confidence kids.
I was talking to someone the other day about whether or not geography is a factor in the confidence level of people. Things are so competitive out here I think it's only natural to have an increased level of confidence. You have to if you want to make anything of yourself. There's too many other people, equally qualified, ready to swoop in and take what's yours. Maybe it's the same in all large cities. All I know is that the most confident, self aware men I've ever met have been southern Californians...and New Yorkers transplanted to SoCal. Coincidence maybe.
Lol that's something a dude from NY would say, are you from NY? You lost me with that last sentence, explain please.
I agree. Where you were raised can have a huge effect on your confidence. I was born and raised in the NYC metro area, we believe we can make it anywhere and we usually do.
