Its never going to be enough no matter how much they make, when you talk about money all day, even night it becomes life for you, like breathing and eating. That shit becomes an obsession that leads to avarice and paranoia about every last dollar.
Dudes are trying for exponential growth so every year has to be better than the last. So if a dude hit 10 mill last year 8 million is fucking depressing.
A mere $8.25M bonus on top of his salary. I weep for him. In fact, I feel so badly for him, I'm going to start up a collection. Some people just aren't living in reality. They have their own reality that us "common folk" will never know.
^^ This. He is hot but needs to stay in prison for a while. I would never date him but it doesn't change his looks.
On the other hand there are more than a few traders who 'retire' from working life around 35-40 years old and move out of NYC, back to the real world where $25-50 mil in the bank is a few lifetimes worth of money. Just because you work for an investment bank or a hedge fund doesn't mean categorically that you lose perspective on life. I know people in Manhattan that spend $30K a year to send their kids to private elementary schools. That's just bizarre. And I know a cat who left that life to pursue his real passion to teach in HS. It takes all types.
He's probably an arrogant SOB, but I bet his direct trades and transactions have made 100s of millions for Goldman Sachs, thus the reason why he's taking such an audacious position against his employer. He's banking they can't afford to lose him so he's working his leverage. No different really than an all-pro NFL player holding out for more cash.
And I wonder how many thousands of lives their financial gamesmanship has destroyed in terms of businesses starved for credit, asset-stripping post-merger, etc.?
You'd be surprised how much attrition there is every year at big Wall Street investment banks. Very few people work in that environment their entire adult lives, even with the financial benefits. Many of them burnout in their 40s and have to make a switch.
He could maybe have been an actor but modelling is not just about face. The average female model is 5ft 11, so men need to be over 6ft 3 with broad shoulders and slim hips.. the classic V shape. Maybe he doesn't have this.
Also life isn't as simple as that, is it? Many people who you seem to classify as having the world at their feet, committed suicide. We don't know anything about his family or the environment he was raised in. We don't know what his IQ is... Your opinion seems very simplistic and judgement.
He has a very basic looking white wife, his genes will lose their exotica in one generation. They will make very ordinary white kids with blue eyes.
He has an extensive arrest record (not sure how many actual convictions) and apparently his mother does as well. It's not unreasonable to suppose that he might have come from a difficult and resource-deprived background, despite his good looks.
Tyson Beckford is maybe six feet tall. If you've got the bod and face as a male model and some agency director falls in love with your look, the generic rules for the industry don't apply. I too think this dude if he wasn't so dysfunctional could've done modeling work. When your mugshot looks better than most headshots from a pro photographer, you've got a gifted face. His arrest record ironically may make him more marketable to a segment of the fashion industry once he gets out of jail. He's a REAL bad boy, if you will, and that image moves merchandise, sad as it is to say. It's not like he's a murderer or some shit, so I still see this guy getting print work at some point.
