    Thank you.

I'll give Lebron his credit, no doubt he's the best bball player on the planet right now. But, lets call a spade a spade here.

uuhh yes. 2010 lj left...what happen to the team? how many playoffs they appeared in? none.

mj...his first retirement they went to the playoffs the next year. then the bull destroyed the team.

lakers...shaq left...they still went to the playoffs.

spurs... robinson left and they were still the shit.

the cavs front office is trash

What are you talking about plenty of good teams have stars leave and they don't do well. What about the Celtics?

wtf are talking they dismantled that to the bench. garnett, pierce and ray all left at the sametime and they are on the edge of retirement. their front office will get them back soon.

cavs had not invested since and during lebron....no supporting cast nothing.

    come on

No doubt the Cavs front office leaves MUCH to be desired. Doesn't mean they weren't trying to build around him though. They just didn't succeed at it. They got him to the promised land, but the team could not pull through. That's called competition. Lets also not forget Lebrons history of just quitting on his team twice in the ECF.

    Pat Riley said it best:

Which I'm sure was not his pitch when he recruited Lebron from Cleveland.

And yes, a few teams are fortunate to make it after their stars leave but that is very rare. Even using the teams you used as an examples is a bit 'meh'.

Bulls: Still had the best SF in the league at the time as well as 3 other players who had All-Star credentials under their belt (Ok, Bill Cartwright was one of them.... so lets go with 2) and Toni Kukoc.

Spurs: When Robinson left he'd already handed over the reigns to Tim Duncan (arguably the best PF in league history). Then add Manu and TP a few years later... and the rest is history

Lakers: IMMEDIATELY sank below .500 the year Shaq left, teetered on .500 a few years later until they brought in Phil Jackson and Pau Gasol before finally reaching the finals again.

    Lets keep it real...

You put Kobe in top 5 tho.... fix your list.

I mean, easily Bill Russell should push him out of that list and arguably, you could go with Shaq, Bird, Oscar Robertson, Duncan, Jerry West.

Take Shaq and Gasol off those Lakers teams and Kobe looks a lot more pedestrian. Actually, look at the Lakers W / L when those players were gone. Kobe is no doubt a great, and arguments can be made that he is the second best SG to ever play the game. To put him in top 5 is just.... are you high?

So, in you guys' opinions, is Carmelo going to the Heat (after pay cuts), the Bulls, or out west?

You don't have the #1 pick in every draft and say that you weren't 'trying'. Also consider that free agents pick teams just as much as teams pick free agents. If I'm young and rich, I'm not trying to go to Cleveland.... send me to NY, Chi, LA, Mia or even Dallas. WTF am I going to do in my 20's or 30's, banking 10+ mil /yr in Cleveland?

More likely the Bulls or another market that can handle his contract requirements. If you think Lala is taking a pay cut you buggin

I hope the Heat, I'd love to see their chemistry get even worse in a big 4 attempt.

Having worked for the Bulls, they're my #2 team behind the Spurs... I'd MUCH rather Kevin Love over Carmelo. As much as they need scoring, I just don't like Carmelo's game.

I can see him going to Dallas. I think he'd be a good fit there with Dirk aging and playing second fiddle.

The state of the Eastern Conference is pretty depressing. I want the Heat, Knicks, Bulls or the Magic to do well. Haven't liked the Lakers since the last sky hook was delivered there. I like OKC's game, though. If the Heat pick him up, they'd better drop Dwayne Wade and lighten a few pay packets to afford him.

D.Wade is franchise. I hope they stay loyal to him and let him retire in MIA.

I would agree if he was willing to take a bit of a cut along with others to maybe bring in some more talent. Something that shows that the team's fate is important to him too. I was surprised when he said almost categorically that a pay cut wasn't happening.

Wade needs a one way ticket to the glue factory. He played too recklessly in his twenties and now his body is saying, "No Mas!" Lebron said that Wade would get that "Kobe contract", fat fucking chance.

Of all the free agents, I'd like to see K. Love come to L.A. but that would involve a trade and we don't have anything to offer Minnesota. I hate Melo's game because he is all but invisible without the ball in his hand, but I'd take him with the hope that Kobe might be able to show him how to play like a champion.

Addendum: Love is not a free agent, as we wouldn't need to trade for him if he were.

The current contract that he's on is his last big pay day, as much as I applaud my boy Duncan for taking a cut so that the team could afford to put talent around him, I don't blame Wade for not doing so.

Right now, the Heat are stuck with him. They're not going to be able to offload his contract, they used their amnesty on Mike Miller. Wade has what? 2 more years at 20 mil? Something like that? That's 40 mil. I don't care if I have 200mil in the bank, I'd have a real hard time walking away from another 40.

See Derrick Rose in about 5 years now.

I am not a Bulls fans but that hurts, because I've loved watching Rose play from the first clips of him in high school. I was immediately high on him and didn't convince too many locals until he destroyed UCLA in the NCAA tournament. We put Josh Shipp on Rose and he was airborne for at least half of the game, such amazing athleticism.

Reminds me of how Allen Iverson got all banged up.
