He's a right wing lunatic. In spite of the fact that he was a brilliant surgeon, he only seems to understand politics at superficial level and goes around regurgitating the same type of nonsensical political commentary that you hear on Conservative talk radio and Fox News.

Like Herman Cain, he has no real chance of being the nominee for President or VP on a Republican ticket, so most of the support for him is completely disingenuous. He's just another black person whom the Right thinks that they can trot out to attack Obama and give them cover for their racism.

He needs to stay out of politics. I think he means well, but the man is clueless and out of touch with reality.

I have a friend who is damn near a carbon copy of this guy. Except he's an orthopedic specialist. Dude is right wing parrot. I can always tell what he's going to talk about when we hang out by turning on Faux News and getting their talking points before we get together.

Sure enough, dude is spouting off word for word whatever Reich Wing BS I'd heard before I left the house.

He is so off the deep end with con-servative ideology that he believes that slavery could not have been as bad as "liberals" have made it out be. Why? Because, businesses would not have treated their assets and resources that badly and still have stayed in business. Business men are smarter than that.

Yeah, he actually said that with a straight face.

Just goes to show that having a high IQ and years of schooling doesn't mean you can't still be a dumb ass.

Lol, of course I like Carson, who doesnt, he is a gifted surgeon and a great example/motivaton for blks kids to overcome adversary, but don't care for him as a politician. Honestly he does not belong in it and will not fit in that arena well

S1701,I can't believe my ears. Sometimes I wonder if he thinks the movie 12 Years A Slave is a fairy tale? Or I wonder if he thinks the Black medical professionals during the Apartheid era from the 50's to the early 90's are well respected by the White population and got to live in the White neigborhood? It is so sad those people don't want to believe a Black person risked everything so they have those great jobs.

.... His credentials as a scientist/physician are top notch.

Many of his social views are abhorrent.

Specifically, I consider his take on parents being strongly encouraged/required to start up a "health care bank account" for their children along the lines of a college fund is deplorable.

The way that health care costs commonly have been allowed to rise, they could easily rise exponentially (way beyond the general inflation rate), as they have already done for the past 30+ years. A serious accident or illness could easily "wipe out" anybody's so-called health care rainy day fund, even if they do have some 'basic' health insurance by current standards.

This also does absolutely nothing to acknowledge the fact that health care should be a right and not an elitist privilege.

For a physician to be sweepingly uncritical of the free-market excesses of insurance companies, for-profit and non-profit hospitals, and private-practice operations is unconscionable.

There's a Time magazine feature article from 2013 that should be required reading for anyone who wonders why health care costs so much. http://time.com/198/bitter-pill-why-medical-bills-are-killing-us/

I love dude like a brother. He's actually a really good guy. Always down to help others (unless it involves doing so through the government), but when it comes to politics, he is a non logical fanatic.

No, no, no! The free market is never, ever wrong! Blasphemer, blasphemer! ...LMCAO!!!
