michael sam , a gay football player, drafted as the 249th player in the draft. he also kissed his boyfriend live on TV when they called his name.
    - SHOULD he had been taken sooner? he was co-defensive MVP in the SEC

    - people gave negative tweets bout the kiss.

YOUR thoughts bout everything bout michael sam

Good for him. I don't follow NFL at all, so I'm not aware of how good a player he is compared to others, but I wish him luck.

He was damn good in college and he made the transition to the nation's best conference relatively well. Mizzou had one of the better defenses in college last year and Sam was a big reason why. I'm surprised that he didn't go higher, just based off of pure talent alone.

From the reports I saw, he had a lousy stats at the scouting combine which led to his drop in the draft. He ran a 4.92 at the scouting combine, way too slow, although he did improve at the Missouri pro-day....

I do remember hearing about his stats at the combine. Don't know how I managed to forget about that. Sometimes I wonder if any of that stuff actually translates to on-field performance.

Yeah the NFL GM's take the combines as "gospel"

A dude's stock can fall big time over a poor combine performance. The Rams could make out with a steal if Sam is the real deal.

A crash course with RaiderLL? Where do I sign up?

I was only familiar with him because of the Mizzou connection and the coming out. I hope he does well.

Gay or not he was a 4th-6th rd pick, combine scared some teams, sure him being gay hurt as well, but had it been clowney he wouldn't have slid.
He played a 43 def end, think he is 6'1 250lbs that's a 34 olb my guess he didn't show linebacker agility coordination, he is only the first to come out but trust me the nfl has scouted and drafted 1st rd gay men if you really follow sec football Sam a. Was singled going against the right tackle b. their other rush end ealy is a straight baller and took on the left tackle or the double team,
Wish dude well but don't expect him playing anything more than special teams rams have 2 great rush ends, Quinn is the best in the business long is a pro bowler as well, hope in time he can get on the field 20-30 snaps

these are all great points that you made. I guess the thing that kinda' got under my skin is when some media reporters started comparing this situation to Jackie Robinson & the color barrier back in 1947. The bible never said that being black was a sin, but it does say that being gay IS a sin, so I thought that was a slap in the face.

the other fact that it not equal is that you can hide being gay....you cant hide being black.

That kiss was fucking disgusting and unnecessary. Your sexual orientation has nothing to do with your athleticism,he could have kept that to himself, but I think he did it as a bargaining chip. It's almost like he was holding NFL owners at gunpoint and forcing them to pick him by saying,"I'm gay",because if they didn't draft him he'd just whine and complain to the media, and say they didn't want him because of his homosexuality, and then there would be a shit-storm behind that.

Obama congratulated him and called him a pioneer...FOR WHAT? What has he done besides playing with penises? He performed like shit at the combine/pro day. And before you say 'Defensive player of the year',what about the other DPOYs that didn't get drafted? I'm not too worried about it,though. True football fans (and not the people just following his gay story line) know that he'll be cut from the league before the end of pre-season,and even if he makes the squad,he'll have pine needles in his ass from riding the bench. The Rams D-Line is already solid without him.

I'm ready for my anonymous neg rep(s) and potential ban for having an opinion and going against the grain.
