No. As I stated, I breast fed my daughter for 2 years (3 in a day, 3 during the night), as well as my son. Unless their father was able to do that, i.e. Produce breast milk, he couldn't stay home and look after them. That along with the cost of child care, we both decided that it was more logical for me to stay home and care for our children. In australia, we receive maternity leave, child bonus payment as well as family tax benefit from the government. Money coming into the house was not solely on him

Shit must be nice to get assistance and not be vilified for it. It certainly doesn't work like that here. They definitely don't want middle class people having kids.

I must admit that we are truly lucky. Not to say that there are not some who have issues with those who receive government assistance, but its generally towards 'the dole bludgers'.

And no. Dole bludger is a term of endearment used for those who receive unemployment benefits and are too lazy to look for work ;)

I have always been the stay at home hubby in a way, I work from home.

There is nothing wrong with a woman making more than me although, I have never experienced that situation.

I wouldn't see a difference if she brought in more income than I did or if she inherited a bunch of money while we were together.

These days, the word is single women make more than single men.

As a man we are taught to be the bread winner in relationships, with women making more than men these days I have heard that men find it difficult to accept a woman making more.

I was gonna ask the same thing. Its also important to be mindful of stage of life. A 25 year old never been married or had kids might be holding out for the "ideal" situation while a woman in her 40s might be pass all the bs and just wants a good stable partner money be damned.

I have no problem with this:

But I know that with the amount of money I make, that would never happen. It would be a two income house. And no, it wouldn't matter to me if my man made less. It's more important that he's doing something he loves and is born to do. Too many times I see people wasting their lives on jobs that make them money but make them miserable. I'd rather he be a starving artist if that is his dream than making six figures at a job that destroys his soul.

My first husband made over $500K a year and he made me work and always threw it in my face that I didn't bring in the type of money he did. Well, duh, I was working at the Field Museum.

He also scoured over my receipts to make sure I wasn't spending too much money (which I never did).

Anyway, money doesn't matter to me. As long as I can have the basic necessities and be able to still go out to movies, I'm a happy camper.

    yep!

I have heard it more than I can count on my fingers and toes from women of how men get a complex when a women make more than them.

I agree the stage of life has a lot to do with it, I have also found that older women tend to me more generous when they make more due to alimony and child support combined with income with a job.

if a man is feeling insecure because a woman makes more money then who is responsible for getting rid of that feeling?
