Well, had it been a 'good job' or even if I hadn't been able to get another job and easily remedy the situation, then it would be a different story. It was a restaurant job though which are a dime a dozen so I just got another job.

That's an easy one: not all men are exactly alike. What's okay with one person may be completely off limits to someone else and just because some other men in some other situations may be okay with that kind of workplace behavior doesn't mean that every man in every situation is going to be okay with it.

Over twenty years ago, I recalled watching a show about professional wrestling. The show interviewed some of the wrestlers. In one of the interviews, a wrestler told a story about how he was approached by guy who said that he could make him a world champion if he slept with him. The wrestler refused. He said he wasn't going to do that for a world championship title. He stated that these things happen as well as the use of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs.

I'm sure everyone remembers the film Disclosure with Michael Douglas and Demi Moore. It was classic because Michael Douglas' character is the victim and Demi Moore is the aggressor(Douglas was often the aggressor in some of his films). Although the plot also revolved around another issue, it was quite a departure from previous films like Basic Instinct.

There are other ways to advance professionally. A sexual liason with a boss or a co-worker seems like a fantasy. But, that's all it is. To refuse is is not a sign of weakness or cowardice. And it sure as hell doesn't denounce a person as abnormal. It means that an individual has made a decision that he/she can live with.

Subordinates sleeping with their managers and bosses isn't a fantasy.
It happens all the time IRL.

Is there risk involved?? Of course.

Can it always be parlayed to one's advantage? No. But some do.

all i am going to say is that he made the mistake of not nipping it in the bud from the very beginning...the labor board doesn't mess around with sexual harassment..

Of course that stuff happens all the time. The difference between what happened in the OP and the part in bold is that the subordinates have control over their destiny to an extent. Can they still be used and then fired by a boss, absolutely. But, when a person actively chooses to sleep their way to the top, they maintain control over what they're doing.

When a boss sexually harasses one of his or her employees, the person/people he/she harasses are viewed as weak and easily controlled and manipulated for the sick satisfaction of the person in charge. The underlings don't have a choice.

    THAT is the difference.

Proof of what I've been saying all along:

    Character >>>> Education:smt006

Character or ethics is still something that's taught, but it's not an automatic byproduct of being formally educated.

Look at Wall Street. You won't find a greater collection of highly educated, intelligent, amoral people in this country.

White collar criminals do more harm to this country every year than all the inmates locked up in state prisons combined.

you can't teach character no more than you can discipline...either you have it or you don't.

where do they have character classes since it can be taught???

You cannot teach intagibles like discipline and character.

I agree with you and Flaming here, especially because there are those of the mindset that because you might be uneducated or poor, you somehow lose your character and ethics.

I don't agree with your last comment though. You can steal a man's money but to steal his life and last breath... no greater harm, sorry!

One is quick, one is slow, one hurts an individual, one hurts legions of people.
Visit a third world country and tell them death is worst than not having clean water or anyway to feed yourself.
