    March 29, 2014

Authorities say a magnitude-5.3 earthquake has shaken the Los Angeles area.

The U.S. Geological Survey originally estimated the quake to be a magnitude-5.3. It said the Friday quake struck at about 9:11 p.m. and was centered near Brea in Orange County -- about 20 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

About an hour earlier, a 3.6 quake hit nearby in the city of La Habra.

Is this bad? I hope not. I hope all our LA members are ok and were not affected if it is an extreme quake than normal.

In live 4 miles from the epicenter. I was damn right on top of that one. It was pretty damn intense. Nothing broken but I have been picking up stuff from the floor. Great to be on crutches now! Ha.

It has been very quiet for a long time but this is not abnormal, we may be going back to normal earthquake patterns...

LOL @ "Great to be on crutches" and having to pick up stuff fallen over on the floor. :D

Nice to hear all is okay FG. Earthquakes are scarier than a mug to experience. Nothing like the feeling of the building shaking and the Earth moving beneath you. You were very close to that one, wow.

Hope your foot heals well and you are back to your active self soon.

If FG was off her crutches and healed she would have kicked the Earthquake's butt.
