This one has the world totally stumped. I really thought they would have found it by now.
How does a packed Boeing in today's Aviation, and with all our technology....just disappear from the face of the earth? :smt017

I hadn't heard about the stolen passports... that's definitely a worry.

It's just so bizarre, I'm anxious to hear the story unfold.

Most likely scenario: Plane malfunctioned and crashed into the ocean. The passengers are all fish food. End of story.

Sonar radar would pick that up, right?

Doesn't it seem like some kind of conspiracy to you?

Some reports suggest it might have been up to 4 flying on stolen passports.

From what I understand, planes 'regularly dissapear' from radar when far over water while leaving onenradar, before getting picked up by another. Which was news to me.

Two odd and creepy weird twists...

They are reporting that one of them looks like soccer player, Mario Balotell. Problem is they post Mario's face, which is ridiculous to say the least.

This is Mario and the image being used... (as well as one of Mario in a suit)

Just ridiculous to use another person who has nothing to do with it and throw it out there in public media addresses... SMH.

Interesting. I would think for a few minutes yes, but days?

I did read this also about the plane...

"It had GPS, an indestructible black box and a beacon designed to float to the surface: So how on earth can a Boeing 777 just vanish over the sea? The plane's transponder should provide air traffic controllers on the ground with the aircraft's speed, altitude and direction".

There have been many such mysteries from all over the globe. This could involve a power failure, cracks in the fuselage resulting in major damage causing the plane to disintegrate in mid-air. Or, the notion that UFOs could be involved, or a dimension in time. Those two possibilities seem far-fetched, but a plane or ship simply cannot disappear without anyone noticing it. And a satellite can see everything. If the Malaysian plane did, indeed crash into the ocean, it would have crashed into the deepest depths in existence, such as the Marianas Trench. I hope they are found.

Australia's joined in with the search for the remains. Poor loved ones waiting on news...not knowing would be a killer!

Very glad I don't work for Boeing any more. They'll be in major damage control over this.

What Boeing panic? Are they feeling the heat?
Also, where do you think the plane might be if it malfunctioned?

I did hear one Iranian was seeking asylum in Germany. I felt so sorry for him.. imagine having to go through all that just to get out of your country. :( We really are blessed and lucky.

But how does that explain people being aable to see loved ones active online, and also get through to their phones?

Boeing will be feeling the heat. Anytime there is an issue like this, any company that builds the planes do. I worked in their communications department when there was an issue with an engine on one of their planes and we had to speak to the press. A lot of press. I heard there was an oil slick in the ocean, but that's been ruled out....last I heard, the search has expanded and gone inland.

And yes, we are so very lucky x

I haven't heard about any of that. All I can think is maybe they went down inland somewhere? My stomach turns at the thought of it
