im thinking of buying my nephew a tool call speed out (he wants to be a mechanic) its suppose extract strippied screws ....what do you know about it and are there better tools? also are you thinking of buying something but you are not sure bout it? well lets talk about it. i would however get more info before buying.
Well my other half is a mechanic and he doesn't own one. It's a handy little thing to have anyway, but how much use will he get from it. Every mechanic loves a good quality Torque wrench, my O/H likes snap on.
how often do you have a stripped screw? suggestion for a great tool by loggerheadtools.com bionic wrench - made in america (even though sears knocked it off with a cheaper maid in china version) i purchased these for my dad and brothers...loved it!
thanks guys and remember ask us and you may get a warning that will save you grief or reaffirm your thoughts to buy
Does your nephew have a basic tool set? I would suggest buying a new tool when what have doesn't work. Never buy a tool you can't hold in your hand, you never know what you're gonna get. Any hardware or department store would carry a screw extractor set, just choose wisely. Here's a link to what people think of 'Speed Out'. http://tvstuffreviews.com/speed-out
Yes there are better tools. If he does not have a basic tool set I would suggest going to Kmart and getting him a 100 piece craftsman mechanics tool set. If he already has basic tools I would suggest going to sears and asking a rep about a craftsman extractor tool set. The theme here is craftsman. They make the real deal.
craftsman is now made in china...it is not the same "craftsman" from back in the day...just a something to think about
True, but I think it is the principle of the situation that sucks and not the quality. The question is are all/most products made in China suck? How are about the Apple products that came from China?? Seems that if a company can lower their production costs by hiring cheaper labor there would be no need to cut quality. Anyway your point is valid, but as of today the tools are still of notable quality. Pretty sure they are under a lifetime warranty too, but I have never had any to break on me. *Disclaimer: I am not a mechanic but I fix my own shyyyt *
I'd ask him what he wants or needs Goodlove, even an average everyday good quality tool goes down well. My O/H had a face like this when I got him a spanner I know Snap On tools are expensive (they are in the UK) but my partner swears by them, they're the best. If he's going to be working everyday on motors DIY quality is not gonna cut it. They do gift cards you could give him a gift card with what you were gonna spend on the kit.
What do people think of smart tvs? At the mo I have a 42inch HD Samsung Plasma (which has been my best buy ever at £450 5years ago) but when you get close to the screen I've noticed it has 3 pin point spots where the plasma seems to be failing, these are a recent thing. Anyway when it dies a honourable death of long service, I've been looking at SmartTVs in particular LG as they seem reasonable and Samsung which I prefer is pretty expensive now. Does anyone own one yet?
naw but they look so cool. i would wait till your tv goes out, like u said...by then the price would gone down
