Real talk and for the love of everything in comics can we please figure a way out to get my boy Michael Jai White better roles. Dude should be way bigger than he is.
Michael Jai-White is a very humble man. I saw him in The Toxic Avenger Part 2. He was credited as Michael White. His character was a henchman and an exec in the Apocalypse Incorporated boardroom. That was one of his earlier roles(maybe his first). Like the wardrobe in Smallville, the clothes are representative of the costume. Like Clark Kent's blue denim pants and jacket and red t-shirt. Or Arthur Curry's(Aqua-Man)green denim pants and jacket and orange shirt. I think costume changes in superhero shows will develop in time.
I completely agree. He deserves way better then the B&C-level roles that he gets. I hope he throws his hat into the ring for the upcoming Luke Cage TV series.
I remember the Tomorrow People...but it was on Nickelodeon a long time ago. Is the premise still about teenagers with the ability to teleport from one place to another? :smt017 And knowing WB's strategy...you might see these guys in an upcoming Justice League movie of sorts.
It's been fleshed it out a bit more in this new take. It's teens thru 20 somethings in this one & they now have what they refer to as the Three T's : teleportation, telepathy & telekinesis. I've only watched a few of the episodes however.
I am a huge fan on My Little Pony! :freehug: I used to watch it with my ex-boyfriend's niece. https://pony.fm/tracks/573-moonlit
Welcome. Probably not the cup of tea for most of the guys who do most of the posting in here, but i'm sure some of the ladies may appreciate it. Any other nerd/geek type things you're into? Games? Movies? Comics? LARPING? Please feel free to share.
It's a video game is it not? Video games fall under the nerd/geek category/culture even though for the most part they are viewed as "mainstream". Plenty of video gamers here. You'll fit in.
Now that's the move! I thought the second one was great. And Luke Goss makes a great villain. And you're spot on about Mike Mignola. I read a mini-series on Abe Sapien and thought it was great. Now I'm down to Baltimore and Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi. It remains to be seen what will happen to that franchise once the switch over to Disney/Marvel's creative team is complete. I'm with you on that one. I limit myself to 3 titles per month (5 when I was splurging) and try to get the trades instead of the month-to-months.
I have a few Brony friends who really enjoy the series. Initially, I was skeptical on the whole reason why the demographics who enjoyed them the most are boys in their 13 to late 30s age range, but I decided to give the show a chance and I have to say, I understand and see why people would be fascinated by it. It's not a bad show at all and while many of the themes have been done already, it's sort of a fresh take when it comes to ponies. I'll just give you a Brohoof and say welcome to the forums.
Next-gen Batman sounds pretty cool. Does this Bruce Wayne look a little like Ben Affleck to anybody else? Not a fan of the armor, but it's the new thing now I guess. Also a small quibble about the Batmobile. It appears to be a one-seater. What about Robin? Were is he supposed to sit?
Wonder Woman and Trevor (Black) I heard about an interracial relationship regarding Wonder Woman and a black man. Well, I think I have found it...and it featured him as Trevor, before the transition into the white protagonist, we all come to recognize in the comics. I don't know if this is 100% legit, but if it is...there's probably a good reason to retcon and do some changes.
Just to be clear Wonder Woman had two boyfriends with the name 'Trevor' There is the Trevor Barnes (The Black guy) and Steve Trevor (The White guy) DC comics rebooted the continuity so many times, it isn't clear if one is a different version of the other, or if they are two separate characters. However since the newest reboot There is only Steve Trevor (The White guy).
Sort of shameful. I guess DC didn't want to lose an audience because of a taboo subject, I suppose. Shame, if they stuck with it, it could have had a broader appeal and base.
To the members who pulled my coat about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., thank you. That episode was great! And now they're about to tie-in Jaimie Alexander aka Lady Sif? Sounds like some more Must-See-TV!
Trevor Barnes was killed trying to save Diana/Wonder Woman in a battle with a villain. Steve Trevor is married to a woman named Etta. These two men were very important to Diana/Wonder Woman.
