I thought illegal immigration had dropped off since Obama came into office?? It's a problem I don't see ending anytime soon and in a couple of generations I think we'll be like Canada, where part of the country is almost exclusively French speaking and the other parts English speaking. This is why we're better off giving illegals a path to citizenship and forcing them to pay into the social safety net with federal income taxes. It's going to be hard for a Dem to sell this message trying to win the WH, but a 'compassionate' Conservative, non-Tea party member could get tough with Mexico on their illegal immigration problem, lockdown the borders AND provide a pathway to citizenship for the working illegals already here. I still believe because of their geography Mexican illegals should have an expedited path to citizenship, but they shouldn't be the ones directing American immigration policy. But if you wanna stop people from being a drain on the system, force them to pay into it.
