Great to see that the Italian court system got it right and found her/Rafaelle guilty of the crimes against Meredith. It appears as though she didn't get away with her crimes like Casey Anthony did in Florida, when she drowned the kids in the pool.

Mikey, there is so many wrongs in your opening statement, it boggles the mind.

Which Italian court system 'got it right'? For which trial? The first Guilty one? Or the second Not Guilty one? Or the Innocent one? Or the latest Guilty again one?

Research "The Monster of Florence" by Douglas Preston and Mario Spezi - a book about a serial killer and the bungling Prosecutor, Giuliano Mignini, who jailed man after man he accused (framed?) as being the killer, only to have the courts overturn and release them when the real serial-killer kept killing. He is the very prosecutor who bungled this Knox case. Eventually, the authors basically fled for their own liberty when this Prosecutor decided to accuse them of satanic worshiping - as he did of Amanda and Raffaelle - going so far as to accuse one of the authors, Spezi, of being the real serial-killer and had him arrested! He has also since changed his accusation theory that Amanda & Raffaelle were devil worshipers, to being just plain killers. Go figure. BTW, Italy, also jails scientists for not predicting earthquakes.

And PS: Casey didn't 'drown her kids in the pool" -- she used chloroform to sedate her only child, then duct-taped Caley's mouth to silence her if she awakened while she partied, and when her child eventually suffocated, she stuffed her body in a garbage bag and dumped it at a Florida swampland near her home.

    This is a farce.

Rudy Guede was a transient, drug addict who'd been breaking into houses in the area.

What's a more credible theory: that Knox and her boyfriend picked this dude up of the street and tried to force Kercher into a satanic orgy with him or that he killed Kercher during a home invasion robbery, which was his MO?

ETA Oh, I forgot. The prosecution dropped the satanic orgy theory in the last trial. Their current theory is that Guede was Knox's house guest, and that Knox, Guede and Sollecito flew into a rage and murdered Kercher because she got upset about Guede not flushing the toilet.

Most of the people who believe that Knox is guilty seem to have a superficial understanding of the evidence and are using her as proxy for their anger against the American criminal justice system or the US as a country.

I share some of those same feelings, but two wrongs don't make a right. Condemning this girl without taking the time to study the facts of the case is just compounding the injustice, and cheerleading the fact that a pretty white girl got railroaded by corrupt officials isn't going to help people from different backgrounds who are in the same situation.

Assuming that Knox is getting a pass because she's pretty and white (which actually isn't true considering that she served four years in prison) is just as bad as the people who always assume that the brother is guilty.

Look at the evidence instead of the tabloid bullshit.

    She didn't do it.

she's getting a pass by the us press who wanted to make off like she was some sweetheart. that didn't fly in italy which has no time for arrogant americans.

which evidence/ the actual evidence or the spin you naive americans believe from your bias media or the hack writer who wrote the book mentioned in bliss' post?

no she didn't do it but she paid the guy who did.

I'll give it a minute....pretty sure Terra's theory addum on the broke student-waitress will be that 'she made payment in the form of sexual favors'.

Paid with what??????????? With what money and why? Have you ever looked at the facts? The real facts and not the spin? Do you know how Americans are viewed over there? Do you know the facts and the history of the persecutor? What would happen here if someone was found guilty in the first trial, based on weird assumptions, then found innocent in the second trial, and then found guilty again, based on newfangeled ideas that are not backed up by evidence? This whole thing is fucked up from beginning to end. How anybody think this is a fair trial is beyond me!
People need to look at the facts and the evidence and stop listening to spindoctors for crying out loud. If you have been subject to what she has, you would look off too.

now that's roll on the floor funny:smt043

she worked three jobs in seattle just to get the money together to go to Italy...but she was so mad about Meredith leaving the cap off the toothpaste in the bathroom that she decided to off her one night...even though she had just met her harry potter look alike boyfriend that she was having honeymoon sex with and getting high that she thought throwing away her dream was no big deal

we have to look at it in relative terms-when the guede guy robbed kercher, he probably got a few hundred euros at most.

amy was getting $400+ a month from her parents, and i'm sure her boytoy could scrouge up a few thousand euros..

for a petty crook- 2000 plus euros isn't a bad payday.

she was getting 400 dollars a month from her parents, not to mention her boytoy i'm sure could put together a few thousand euros. that would entice a petty theif.
point1- i have looked at the evidence-
-the knife, the lack of fingerprints of amy's in common areas of the house.
point2- there was also motive no know in the house liked amy because of her american arrogance. even her stepdad thought she was a brat.
point3- her behavior at the police station.

as an aside- most italians don't like arrogant americans like amy. when i was there i was fine. and as far as the prosecutor goes alot of what is said against is an author trying to sell a book.

imo she is at least zimmerman guilty.....

I haven't been following the case that strongly, so you're probably right about what you said. I posted because I generally think there's a bias in the court system depending on who's convicted for whatever action. If you're wealthy and a white male, you can use the Affluenza defense to beat the system. If you're a white female, regardless of socioeconomic status, you can still get away with things. If you're non-white, you can't beat the courts.
