I'm trying to get a business off the ground, so my resolutions are to:

    - fake it 'til I make it
    - write shit down and get'er done

... also to be more outgoing. Living in this cold-assed city, I tend to write ppl off with a swiftness IRL, and tho most ppl deserve just that, it can be more fun and interesting (and maybe even profitable) to engage more

    Anyone else?

Lets revisit this thread first day of spring and see if anyone's actually put their money where their mouth is.

C'mon wwbmers - invest in saying it out loud!

Good luck with your business!! I wish you all the success in the world love :smt058

I'm not big on New Years resolutions...let's be honest, many use it as a false sense of motivation which fades within the first few weeks of the year. Instead I make note of short term goals and milestones that I hope to accomplish/meet every few months. I write them on a white board downstairs in the kitchen to keep them front and center (out of sight, out of mind!).

I definitely plan on working on the bolded part above though. I brush people off easily and keep most everyone at arms length. I'll continue to trust my gut, but I hope to give people irl the benefit of the doubt more.

One of my goals for the last quarter of 2013 was to make myself more of a priority...I hope to keep that going.

Lastly my biggest goal for the second quarter of 2014 is continuing my education. It's a huge undertaking, and a long ass process, but so worth it in the end!

That's a good idea. I just bought the book "Write it down, make it happen"... The whiteboard idea will help keep stuff "top of mind"

I'm going to stop getting "important on the internet" confused with "important in real life".

you don't seem to post a lot here, thump. Do you think you have "internet addiction"?

... or you mean you take internet stuff too seriously?

I just need to remind myself that people are basically good and reasonable in "real life". So I shouldn't get angry at the ugliness and derision I see on the internet, because that isn't who we really are.

My resolution is to remember to write things down for my "memory jar". I did one for 2013, and it was nice to read everything on Dec 31, to look back at things that happened through the year.

Writing down the small things makes sure I don't forget. I forgot I went to a Jewish festival with my friend, until I read the piece of paper I had that written on, etc.

    That's an interesting idea, nikkers

...then if the jar isn't filling up fast enough, you know to pick up the pace

This year, I've committed to better myself oj a few different ways...

Going to read my daily bible / reading schedule. Really, have always wanted to do this in my lifetime, and never stick to it. Needless to say, I have 3 days worth of reading to do already...

Get back into my workout regimen. Going to start running...absolutely hate running. Don't know how I ever did this in boot camp.

Get my budget together and stick to it!

    Start writing a business plan.

Keep better track of all of my business endeavors so i can more effectively plan and manage my professional career...at least for the time being. See changes in my professional endeavors within the next few years, and i want to be prepared!
