Loki, had you seen the segment on the Rachel Maddow show on the calendar of the current Congress? It looked more part time than full-time. They wasted so much time on voting for the umpteeth time on bills against Obamacare while at the same time get super 'Caddy deals' on their government sponsored health care. Oh yes,to date I had not heard anything from the Heritage Foundation that the healthcare plan that is the foundation of Obamacare that was denounced by them.

I missed that Maddow segment, will search for it on youtube. The Heritage Foundation is so blatent in their agenda, I tend to immediately discount anything coming from them.

An increasingly common right-wing talking point.

But exactly why is that supposedly significant?

...And tdk is right, it's more of a corporate oligarchy at this point -- ruled by "multinationals" who have very little care for the upkeep of the citizenry

Those polls said the same thing in 2006/2007.

And out of nowhere, that bi-racial dude with the funny name won.

Don't be surprised if a liberal Latino or other non-white wins in 2016.

True,if Obama prevented a Clinton corronation in 2008 it may not be a surprise if a Latino/Latina becomes POTUS.

We need a Commander-in-Chief who can and will do the job that he/she is elected to do. I don't agree with everything and every decision from Obama but, let's be honest, he was (and still is) running uphill with a hundred pound weight jacket on due to the hostility that he's faced from Day One from those wonderful folks in Congress and in conservative organizations who don't like him on a personal level (no further explanation needed). Having said that, the teacher who made that statement, Gil Voigt, is clearly speaking from his own personal ignorance and prejudice if his only reason why he thinks the U.S. shouldn't elect another black president is based purely on race. What an idiot.
