I think the democrats are going to be bright with Cory booker and duval.

Cory has two years if he works hard because all stars burn out.

Duval is the more likely of the two.

    on the republican side:

back to jersey with the governor.

I do not see where Hillary Clinton could actually win. She voted for the Iraq war. That alone is a problem in the primary.:smt012

daaaayam. Exactly what are you saying here? that if someone is qualified, we should vote against him because he's black? And that way we can ensure progress?

Don't you realize that that attitude is the exact goal of all the "I hope he fails" obstructionism you're seeing?

Don't you realize that the ground level analogy of this stuff is the office setting whereby if a black person has to write up some "birthright bully" to personnel then "we shouldn't hire black people, because there's always trouble"?

Even if we don't cause the problem, bullies can derail us because any problem is a result of our presence... So that's why we shouldn't have another black president (though blacks of course are welcome to fight and die for this country)?

It's more like this: We shouldn't have representatives who are willing to risk the country's credit rating and economic health and general progress just because they're upset that there's a black family in the white house. That's what's up.

Man, you meet the devil halfway, and he's going to make you meet him halfway yet again, and yet again, until you find yourself in hell.

Fact is, all the offices of the land should be available to black people, as long as that black person can best get the job done for the benefit of all. Yes, this country is nazi, but you don't just lay down and acquiesce to it

It's unlikely to be an issue since it's a done deal and it ended [for the most part]. The only real issue would be Benghazi and even with that, she may come out as a rose if she knows how to articulate her stance.

As for Warren...she won't stand a chance, plus her lefty record won't get her nominated. They always want someone who is centrist at least.

I think the country is going to swing back to the right.

The obama experience has put a damper on idealism and most ppl are prolly thinking that a right wing gov't = prosperity

Christie defeats hillary. That's my prediction

....The hard right, the tea party base and the South will never solidify behind Christie.....If he is the nominee, it will horribly fracture the Republican vote and the Democrats will win again .....

I think I get what you were trying to say. I think you meant to imply that the woman in your scenario is the MOST qualified person for the job. But, If you look at the phrasing of your statement, it reads like your saying "you would chose a qualified woman over ANY man, even if he is as qualified as she is".

There were plenty of people who accused Black people of voting for Barack Obama simply because of his race. Truth is some of us did.

However, I would hate to think that women are doing that for female candidates. For a position as important as The President of The United States. we shouldn't get tied up into race or gender loyalty.

she would need to be the most qualified candidate...i think it's time for our country to progress to a point of voting in a woman...but i am certainly not looking for any candidate to be a pandering puppet to their party...i am looking for a candidate that can turn this ship around

i didn't vote for obama because he is black...or simply because he is a democrat...i really wish that i didn't have to vote that way due to social issues...but the other side is tied up so tight in their beliefs when it comes to women's rights, gay rights that it makes it difficult to vote republican...I really don't want to see social issues on the platform...I want to see economic growth, education and equality

hmm... Good points. But the tea party base and south might just unite in their opposition to hilary

They definitely hate hilary more than they resent christie. If christie makes it past the primaries I think he'll take hilary, especially since we're already in the midst of a political swing

Agreed. A woman president has been long overdue. Hell, Canada and Great Britain had female leaders and they've shown to be admirable in their politics. The United States have always been a nation to slowly evolve itself with the times, and sadly, it had to take strong demonstrations and protests to even reach the voices to Congress. For a nation that stresses the Constitutional means of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, it's a living contradiction in of itself, especially at its beginnings.

    Still, progress has been made.

Furthermore, it's been long overdue, not just for a woman president, but a president of the LGBT community, a non-religious or even an atheist president. Actually, the biggest leap would be seeing a Native American president and that would really spark some conversation.

Sad story. I feel for the kid.

If that had happened to me at that age during the Obama presidency, I think it might have crushed me to hear one of my teachers say that.

The teacher should be forced to sit in front of this student supervised behind closed doors and fully explain his racist, bigoted point of view.

Utterly humiliate him and maybe change his attitude.

I disagree we don't need another Black president.

This country needs the next TEN presidents to be non-white men to get people's heads readjusted.

9 women POTUS after Obama would be equally fine to me.

...I base my conjecture on the fact that despite the Benghazi fiasco, despite democratic president Obama' s many scandals, despite her mediocre record as secretary of state, she polls twice as well as Christie or any other Republican every time. ...The large coalition of Hispanics, Blacks, liberal whites and willing allies in the press will not allow for another Republican president in our life time. .....

not that it really makes much of a difference. But the repubs have carried themselves in such a scandalous way I hope they're chided for it.

Besides, I'm looking forward to a progressive female prez. If the world was full of progressive female leaders, I think it would be a totally different place. Real progress could be made -- progress that's worthy of how far the world has advanced technologically

What this teacher has said was a slap in the face to all kids of color. I do not believe that the race or gender of the POTUS will guarantee prosperity. For any society to be prosperous, it must first be willing to cooperate and collaborate in ways that will be able to aid in unification. This entails equality. This country has to move past the deception, fear, anger, hatred and suffering as a result of all of these things to do it.

It's a good message. And good post there, my friend.

Sadly, we maintain a craving for conflict.
