    Dialect Quiz

The data for the quiz and maps shown here come from over 350,000 survey responses collected from August to October 2013 by Josh Katz, a graphics editor for the New York Times who developed this quiz. The colors on the large heat map correspond to the probability that a randomly selected person in that location would respond to a randomly selected survey question the same way that you did. The three smaller maps show which answer most contributed to those cities being named the most (or least) similar to you.

Baltimore, Washington DC and Arlington. Which is strange since Philly is much closer than DC or Arlington. I guess because I say "sub" rather than "hoagie."

    Be-you,

The Americans that you mostly associate with, are they from those areas? I remember meeting some German girls who'd never left Frankfurt but spoke with a heavy Texas twang., that they picked up from the dudes they mostly hung with.

No,actually the 4 guys I was in a relationship with were from Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and North Carolina.
Especially the Memphis guy I was with for on and off 5 years,so that would make most sense for my dialect to sound like. But he and the North Carolina guy spent parts of their childhood in Germany, due to their fathers' military job.

the funny part is I KNOW this test is an ego shock for some people where were thinking "I'm better than these people around here...I DON'T talk like these fuckin Bamas I'm MORE articulate than that..*arrogant chuckle*"

then they take the test and find out they are JUST AS BAMA as the people they think theyre better than:p:p
