Where's the pizza??

As a native southern Californian, I probably don't know what "real" pizza is supposed to taste like, but this place is ridiculously good and popular They've been in Little Italy forever (although they have a few locations throughout SD), and there's always a line to get in. Truthfully, I'm not a pizza fan, but even I like this pizza (and they've been voted "the best" many times)!

*Note: I know it's not the point of this thread, but their Chicken Parmigiana is heaven on earth.

 

I didn't mean to start a war with my pictures of the best pizzas ever. LOL.

And just for the record, New York pizza is crap. I mean, seriously, who folds their pizza to eat it? It's ridiculous. :smt043

I can't remember who asked about the pizza joint by Willis (spelled S-e-a-r-s LOL) Tower, but it looks like it's Giordano's.

Spinato's Pizzeria in Scottsdale....artichoke hearts pizza!

 

A place named "Cheers", which offers food until 11 PM, and on weekends after 11 PM is a country music bar.
They have pizza creations/topping combinations that are not necessarily too common,also offering salads,sandwiches,burgers and other meals,plus they deliver within town
I ve tried both their food and their bar and liked both.

 

The best pizza is at Lombardi's in Nolita, NY.


Also, if I could recall the artisan pizza place in Portland, best pizza ever.

On diners, drive ins and dives, I saw this pizza place in San Antonio, called Dough Pizza Napoletana, I'm dying to try.

This spot is legit. Its going to be my pizza place for the time I have remaining in this town. I still like Gino's but this place gives me variety with excellent quality.

 

Not really into pizza but Lucifer's in Los Feliz is pretty good.

 

Etna Pizza is bomb as fuck. Been around for a minute since my mom used to eat there in college.

 

Books mentioned Lou Malanatis and Giodanos, both very good and known for their deep dish. Just to add another to the mix, I heard that Beggars pizza is the shit, I haven't had it yet.

*I fails to mention that's Chicago, so you don't have to look back.

 

I'm Bronx, NY born, and raised, and I absolutely love pizza. My favorite spot (since the early 1980s) is Sal's Pizzeria in the Bronx. I still go there each time I'm in NYC at least once.

A few years ago on my first visit to Chicago... I was introduced to Giordano's. OMG - That pizza is insanely deeelish, and I have to have it every time I go into Chi-town. In fact... I need to go on a order myself a couple of pies since a Chicago visit isn't in my near future.

 

I used to prefer Lou's to Giordano's.... but Giordano's has been making a comeback for me. I just prefer Lou's crust.

Every time I come to home, Beggars is a must have....

I used to be exclusive to Lou because of that crust, but then I had Gio's, which I hadn't had since a kid. I've been hooked ever since, but I try to go to both out of respect lol. Yea, ima have to get around to Beggars.

 

Lou's does have a great crust, but as someone who invariably scrapes off the top layer of tomatoes on her pizza, it doesn't make sense for me to rank that higher than my favorite deep-dish: Giordano's.

Now, if only Giordano's has Lou's cheddar cubes, I woiuld never have to set foot in a Lou's again. LOL.

As for Beggar's, I'd never heard of it. I looked it up online and discovered there isn't any by me, which explains why I hadn't heard of it.

As for the best thin crust pizza, I think hands down it's Barnaby's.

 

I think my mind might be transitioning to Giordanos as my favorite, just not quite there yet.

You must be all the way up north because baggers is pretty much everywhere except for west of Harlem Cicero Avenue, but they are southwest and south. Barnaby's is up north I believe, i've heard of it, I have friends up north but I've never been. If you're going for thin crust, I like Rossati's in the west.

Rosati's is okay, but I've never been a huge fan of their pizza, though I know many people who claim theirs is the best. I just don't see it, though.

 

The next time I'm headed up to Highland Park from downtown or Naperville, I'm going to try Barnaby's.

 

I never heard of Barnabys either. For thin crust, my all-time favorite was a place on the South Side who's name I forget. Second would be a spot off of 109th and Western called Milano's. Beggars and Homerun Inn would follow.

Funny, I NEVER hear a Chicagoan reply UNO's as a favorite pizza place.
