Where's the pizza??

Most of us can appreciate a nice hot cheesy pizza every now and then. Does not matter if you just finished a long day at work, a long week of working out in the gym or just enjoying the weekend. A tasty pizza, perhaps with a cold beer is a nice way to relax and unwind. If you prefer the local pizza spots to the chain restaurants then this thread is certainly for you. In my travels I am often unaware of where the good pizza is. Perhaps I am not the only one. So where do you go to get good pizza? Perhaps you remember a place you liked when you were out of town, or perhaps you know where the best place is in your hometown. So lets hear it (or see it) ;)

Angela Mia is without a doubt the best pizza in Cleveland OH. The one here is on the main street Euclid. The area looks hood but Euclid is a main street; therefore anyone is safe going there. TBH the pizza is soo good I would go through some of the toughest hoods just to get a slice. Worth the risk of getting a beat down imo :D

[IMG] This is my go to spot in Va Beach very tasty!! (General Booth Blvd)
Chances are that I or another member of this site has been in a town in which someone here knew where the GOOD pizza was. Perhaps we will know where to go from now on if we get good participation in this thread. Lets here it from all of the members that like pizza, does not matter what country you reside in or where the good pizza is. Inquiring minds would like to know. The primary purpose of this thread is for information sharing, but if someone posts a pic of a pizza restaurant that you think sucks, please state your opinion.

I have no good local pizza joints to offer because all the places who have decent pizza provide shitty customer service or they change up they recipe for the worse.

I prefer the mom & pop pizzerias to chain pizzas(what I affectionately call production line pizzas). Every now and then I would have Pizza Hut or Little Caesars. Papa John's is a favorite on college campuses. I think Papa John's' pizza has one advantage, it has a good sauce but that is all.

My boy and I always go here when we go up to the bay area. Gonna be a minute before I can get it again, though.

Haven't been back to Philly in quite a while, but I remember Pagano's (and, before the original owner died, their first location called The Original House of Pagano's)... Whenever I pass thru Philly, along with my Philly cheesesteak, hoagie, and soft pretzel cravings, I always make a visit to Pagano's...

I was in Cleveland once and had a pizza that my now ex-coworker RAVED about and I have to say, outside of Chicago, it was the best damn pizza I've ever had: Donato's pepperoni pizza.

    In Chicago, there's Lou Malnati's

    and Giordano's:

Giordano's has a lot more cheese and is my favorite of the two.

I'm not going to go on a john stewart rant but chicago pizza is basically a big pie.

In Broward county Ft. Lauderdale area, I knew of only two; GG's and Big Louie's. In Miami- Dade county, Tony's Pizza and The Big Cheese in Homestead.

AMEN, BROTHER JON! But, to be honest, I would like to try a Chicago deep dish one day. But New York style rules.

I thought it was funny. Chicago and NY will forever compete in the area of great pizza. (which is good btw) Here is the thing: if you are in NY what are you going to eat? If you are in Chicago what are you going to eat? There is good pizza in both areas. Btw feel free to give up your source of the delectable sin we call pizza!

I think it is more about quality and taste. I mean, you cannot enjoy a submarine sandwich if you are not eating the right bread. Bread is key. I don't care where you are in this country. But, such a search for that pizza to give yourself that burst of pleasure is a long one. But satisfying.

Unfortuatly I didn't grow up in the part of the country that was known for epic pizza.

When I was a kid my family would go to Shakey's Pizza. I don't know if they are the best but I loved it.
