Is WM/BW interracial on tv replacing BM/WW relationships?

Now that's amazing. Talk about some self hatred or at least a lack of self-respect.

No, not really. I want to be fair about this. Just as I at times point out to black women when they are wrong with bs nonsense about there being more bm-wf relationships in films than there are wth wm-bf, I have to be even-handed and disagree with your post as well. The truth is, if you take out daytime TV, television has had overall a mostly even ratio between the pairings/hookups/relationships of bm-wf and wm-bf. And this for both cable and network. Some years one pairing may be more represnted than the other, but a couple of years later it could be reverse. The only thing that really makes an imbalance these days is that you have had dramas of late starring black women whose love lives have been almost exclusively with white men (thus those relationships become a focal point of the show rather than a one night stand or some subplot).

Still let us not act as if tou don't see IR between black men and white women on primetime shows. Every white girl who was in the opening credits of that new 90210 had at least one relationship with a black male. That was astounding. And on that same CW network there is that NY Gal Doctor goes to Dixie show and the black mayor of that town has been involved with white females. Those are just a couple of examples. How they differ from a Scandal is, as I wrote above, those storylines are not the dominant storylines and that is because there aren't any hour shows right now with a black male lead. There is no black male equivalent to Scandal.

Now when it comes to daytime TV that has been a whole different story altogether.

    Exactly.

  4. Well to be fair, and I was just reminded of this yesterday. There is House of Lies with Don Cheadle. He's had several interracial hookups on that show, including Cutty from House MD. So cable seems to be our last bastion of hope.

The word strong is tossed around like a beach ball. When I hear a woman say the term "a strong woman", it makes me wonder what they mean by it. Is a strong woman a woman who is too proud? Too intimidating? Too loud? Always has to have the last word? Do they thrive on chaos; a thing that noone has control over? Surely, it goes without saying that these strong women had been handled by a strong man probably more than once before they became strong women. And when they comment on any man's choice for a relationship, they call that man weak or a traitor. It tells me that these women are not getting any love and they are not to be approached.
