I'm trying to get away from only listening to singles, as they may detract from what an artist is trying to achieve with a body of work. Do not post a review unless you've listened to an album in its entirety. Yep, beginning to end . . . useless skits included. To begin. Al Green - Call Me: A+
Outkast- ATLiens A+ Outkast- Aquemini A+ Ghostface Killah- Supreme Clientele A+ Little Brother- The Minstrel Show A+ Anthony Hamilton- Coming From Where I'm From A+
Foesum-Perfection A+ The greatest display of the West Coast GFunk sound. This is up there with the Death Row catalog and in most cases is better than most of it. This album never loses consistency and had a perfect balance of hard and smooth tracks. Twinz-Conversation A+ Another great display of GFunk. Warren G's production on the album is probably his best ever. Like Perfection, I get lost in this album.
DJ Quik - The Book of David: A The Police - Synchronicity: A David Bowie - Hunky Dory: A+ Maxwell - BLACKsummer's night: B+
I think it's Quik's best album, the sound is unadulterated west coast. He's not even trying to appeal to anywhere else.
I was wondering how her album was. might have to check it out... I hear the new album Bey dropped today is hot...she finally "came out of her shell" and showed the real Bey. Have to say all I've heard, I'm curious.
ArchAndroid is brilliant for almost the entire album, stronger than Electric Lady: A-. I haven't heard the Beyonce album but might check it out next week.
