last night on...what would you do? reverse racism was in full play...

so here is the question for the men...would you let a white guy cut your hair at the barbershop?

the white guy went to school and put in the same number of hours as the black barbers to learn his craft...he obviously can do the work or the shop owner wouldn't have hired him...

    yes or no

if the answer is no, do you consider this racism?

No,if he can cut a Black man's hair he can have his shop in the hood or have a partnership with another brother.

While in the navy stationed in Italy didn't know one dude that could cut had no choice but to use the base barber shop , no pics of me during those 2 yrs would ever hang on a wall lol
Wasn't horrible but unless I saw with my in eyes a white dude line a black dude then call it racist if you must but I wouldn't sit in his chair, btw my wife maintains my do now for what's that worth

First off reverse racism is a racist term in itself.
Secondly I wouldn't let anyone who doesn't have hair like mine cut my hair whether they are white Asian or Native. Same if I were white I wouldn't take advice about a good sun block since our sun protection needs are different.
Let me ask this is it sexist for a woman to want a female doctor over a male one?

I have had both a female and a male doctor...female and male dentist

I have also had a black woman cut my hair...I have really curly hair and she did a great job...she also straightened my hair better than anyone else had ever done

the setting for this was in a brooklyn barbershop...basically men would come in and go to the first barber available...no appointment...just drop in...but when all the black barbers were busy and they suggested the man sit with the white barber...he said, no way...

I've had my hair cut by white guys a lot. I remember a an Italian guy named Nino. He always hooked me up. Then there's a guy named Al. I go to him and say, "Do it to it, Al." And then there was a guy named Dennis from England. For the life of me, he looked like David Bowie. He always did a great job with my hair. At the barber shop where my nephew goes, there are black, white and Latino/hispanic guys cutting black hair with no problems whatsoever. It doesn't matter who cuts my hair.

Yes I would. When I was at my poorest I used to get my hair cut at the barber college. The instructor there was white and he could cut black hair as well as anybody.

Also there is a black barber shop were my brother lives, that is run by a Korean lady.

Yeah I have done it. However one of the black barbers usually had to vouch for him first. That was mainly when i was teenager

From my understanding is black people don't trust white hairstylists/barbers because usually they don't know how to work with our grain of hair. Not racism.

Some barbershops and hair saloons went as far to say we don't do black people's here because we don't know how.

Me I don't give a fuck. I heard Chicago and Philly got these $5 Chinese ran and operated barbershops, they need to bring that shit to fucking Pittsburgh. $20 for a haircut.... fuck I can't complain. I went to a barbershop in DC and they wanted $38 for a haircut. PLEAZE!

When I lived in Cleveland I regularly went to the same black barbershop. I thought my barber was white. Lol. After about 5 years of him cutting my hair every two weeks I found.out he was black. Some kind of way I found out his woman was black and I said to him jokingly " I figured you would have a black woman". He said " why not? I am black" Had to lol about that. To me the concept of race is a joke. If a person can cut my hair well, they can be my barber, its that simple.

If he's been cutting hair and knows what he's doing, I'd let a White barber cut my hair, no problem. Of course, mine is relatively simple so I'm good to go as long as he doesn't forget the alcohol afterwards.

It's different because black girls grow up playing with straight hair that's no like their own and most pay for it later on in life. It's not this completely foreign entity to them. Also from what I've seen in documentaries the wigs used in beauty school more closely resemble straight hair not hair like people have. See the difference?

No I don't see the difference..I don't have straight hair...I have to use product and a flatiron to get my hair straight:p
