Would you say that same ridiculous "he wasn't prepared for college" had it been rape?
What about being out numbered and bullied makes it everyone else's fault except the bullies?
Are you just applying your experience at college to this kid? If someone was getting bullied when you were in school would you have noticed?

How do you know who has little chance of beating who in a fight? They look for those who are afraid of them because they don't know who has a chance of beating them. 99% of all people will avoid a potential real fight if they could that includes bullies. The only way they know for sure that someone will not give them a real fight is if that person fears them. Size certainly is not everything. The bottom line is that if you don't stand up to bullies other people who once sort of respected you will start to push you around also. The choice is either stand up for yourself or the entire situation will only get worse. I knew a real tiny guy in high school that nobody dared to fuck with. Dude was actually a real midget, but he feared no one. Size is not much of an advantage if the bully does not know how to use it. Fighting is about knowing how to capitalize on whatever advantage or build you have. Skill and experience are the main factors. Bullies look for fear, they want certain people to think size is everything so they can push them around.

Its simple, I know if I had to fight Kimbo Slice or Brock Lesner the fight could go either way. I know not to let Brock grab me. I would observe Kimbo's stance and foot work to avoid his strong hand or haymaker. The bottom line is that I could get my ass kicked but If I hit either one in the temple or chin their knees will buckle just like anyone else. Lets keep the concept of superman in the comics or nerds lounge.

You need to get off this false equivalence between rape and bullying. They are not the same, the motivations are the same, the circumstances aren't the same.

If parents were worried about their children being raped and not bullied, most elementary schoolers would be carrying tasers and rape whistles.

Parents do tell their daughters things they can do to lessen the possibility of being sexually assaulted. Parents should do the same thing about bullying.

    I was told this rule by my mother when I was around 7 years old;

Don't look for fights. Don't start fights. But if you happen to find yourself in a fight, don't stand there and get your ass kicked.

I've been teased as a kid for dumb shit, but I've never been bulled. Wonder why??;-)

You think people get bullied in college?? That's insane. It does not happen to the point that it's an issue on campus, like binge drinking is.

No one on this board knows anyone who was physically bullied in college and neither do you TDK.
You're arguing a rhetorical point, but it's not based on everyday facts.

Thats horseshit logic. I don't know anyone who got robbed on campus either so does that mean it doesn't happen? Come the fuck on.
Secondly how do you know what his parents did or did not tell him?
And I keep using rape because it's a great example of powerlessness where you have little to no control over what happens.

Again you're speaking as an actual grown ass man not a scared teenager out numbered three to one. Secondly if you are delusional enough to believe you have a chance with trained fighters then we have nothing left to talk about on this topic beast. Unless your occupation is MMA fighter or hand to hand infantry expert you are talking purely out of your ass. Don't let a good gym set gas you up fam.

Not saying I would like to fight them, but you act as if MMA training gives a man a steel chin. You act as if you would rather stay home and starve rather than walk past Kimbo every day to go to school or work.

A fourth student has been suspended in what's become a national story involving students charged over allegations that they bullied a black roommate, chained a bike lock around his neck and called him names that date back to the days of slavery.
On Friday, San Jose State University spokeswoman Pat Harris said that a fourth student, an 18-year-old from Los Angeles, is the latest student to be suspended. This fourth student was to be charged in the case, but cannot be named or described because he was a juvenile at the time of the alleged incidents, Harris said.
The announcement comes on the heels of Thursday's suspensions of three other white SJSU students: Colin Warren, 18, of Woodacre, Joseph Bomgardner, 19, of Clovis in Fresno County, and Logan Beaschler, 18, of Bakersfield. The trio was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor hate-crime and battery charges. If convicted, the students face a maximum of a year in county jail.

Also Friday the president of the university Mohammed QayoumiI met with Reverend Jethroe Moore, president of the San Jose/Silicon Valley Chapter of the NAACP.
QayoumiI said the two agreed to the following actions:

Appearing together at a noon press conference on Mon., Nov. 25, in front of the Smith/Carlos sculpture to discuss pending criminal charges.
    • Co-hosting a campus forum during the first two weeks of December, inviting community input about racial tolerance at SJSU and beginning a dialogue on how to heal rifts.
    • Offering a spring 2014 lecture series on issues of diversity and tolerance.

At a news conference Thursday, Vice President of Student Affairs Warren Nance called their alleged behavior against an 18-year-old African-American roommate "shocking and outrageous."
Some of that behavior, between August and mid-October, included hanging Confederate flags and pictures of Adolph Hitler, calling him "three fifths" and "fraction," terms that date back to how the U.S. Census used to count slaves in the South, and putting a U-shaped bike lock around his neck for ten minutes, according to prosecutors.
The African-American student still attends school, and his family sent out a brief statement (PDF) on Friday, saying, they are "deeply disturbed by the horrific behaviors that have taken place against our son."
To date, Beaschler is the only suspected to have been arrested and released. Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Erin West told NBC Bay Area that his first court date is set for Jan. 6.
Attorney Dek Ketchum, is representing Colin Warren, and didn't immediately respond for comment. It's unclear who is representing Bomgardner or the fourth student suspended Friday.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a major civil rights group based out of Alabama, released a statement Friday. It said: "The San Jose State University incident highlights a disturbing pattern of ignorance and intolerance… Students, administrators and communities must understand that hateful actions, language and symbols...have no place in centers of learning or anywhere else in America today.”
The news of the roommates' behavior in the Campus Village dorm suite has saddened San Jose State leaders and angered many in the students' African-American community.
"You've been telling us for years that things are fine," student Gary Daniels, 21, said angrily at a Thursday news conference at SJSU. "But this is a hostile environment for black students."
And for the second day, students from the Black Student Union rallied in front of massive statues of Tommie Smith and John Carlos in the center of campus. Smith and Carlos put San Jose State on the map during the 1968 Olympics when they raised their fists in a “Black Power” salute. At the time, both Olympians attended San Jose State.

The funny thing is that I picked a street fighter and a wrestler. Its not like I picked a real martial artist like Anderson Silva, John Jones or Lyoto Machida. lol

Kimbo can fight. We saw him get his ass handed to him by professional fighters not dudes who workout three times a week at Planet Fitness fam. Brock Lessner is a bona fide beast. You don't become a heavy weight ufc champ by being a slouch.

please do not be so naïve to believe that your child is invincible or you as well as the others that agree with you will be sadly disappointed when things don't go according to plan...

hope for the best...plan for the worst...or roll with the speed bumps...kids today get a lot thrown at them...how you handle those situations will have a lasting impression...

this young man retreated to his home in southern ca several times...at first his parents didn't pick up on anything being wrong...he wouldn't tell them what was happening to him...when they became suspicious that something wasn't quite right they finally escorted him back to school and to his dormitory where they saw all they needed to see and filed a report

Please point out in my post the exact sentence where I state that I believe that either of my children or myself for that matter, are invincible?

I repeat: You are welcome to your opinion on this topic. I have mine. Do not try to make this into some childish game of me getting others to agree with me. I think you will be sadly disappointed if you want to go that silly route with me.

    here you go:

" I don't know what kind of relationship you or other's have with your kid's that you feel that they will get themselves into a situation so bad that they feel they can't come to you for help. I'm not saying I'm the ultimate father or anything of the sort but I think I have a pretty good grasp on reading my kid's & their personalities, especially when something's off. And if I miss something my wife is pretty damn good at picking something up"

anything else RA? I never said you were childish...where did I say that? show me my exact sentence...now who is playing silly games?

    SMDH

So let me get this straight.... you read that as me saying/thinking that I somehow believe I & my children are invincible? Really?? WoW..........

You can disagree with my opinion if you like, but please don't presume to correct my opinion on something because you don't agree with it. SMDH.

Word class grappler? :smt030 You guys act as if I never seen Roy Nelson fight. He is just basically a guy that knows how to punch and hit hard. Thats why I like him because his presence made a point. Sort of like that off duty cop that beat Kimbos ass. I guess you want to tell me that dude was world class too even though he simply worked a 9 to 5 like other ordinary citizens and just happened beat the shit out of Kimbo when they fought a planned fight.

A cop isn't some ordinary nine to five
