Damn! Not You Too, Person Of Interest

    **Spoilers**

Well I guess I won't be watching Person of Interest anymore now.

They became the latest in a long line of shows to "kill off the only Black person"

Taraji P. Henson was one of the few Black actresses working on network TV. She was a star of the show, she had been on it from the beginning.

Oh, and by-the-way the show recently added a new cast member this season. I'll let you guess what she looks like.

To be fair she didn't make much sense anymore with new ex cia chick who is a much more compelling character. Cbs isn't known for their strong black leads outside of Criminal Minds maybe so I'm not surprised. Its the same network that produces racist shows like 2 Broke Girls and The Big Bang theory so don't be too shocked. Hey at least there's still Scandal lol.

I got so mad when I saw that last night. I'm truly sad about it, I loved her in that role. The show's not gonna be the same.

I remembered when Laurence Fishburne's character Ray Langston was written off on CSI. I thought he would stay on a little longer. However, unlike Gary Dourdain's character Warrick Brown, who was killed off, Ray Langston was removed and the team felt guilty that they didn't back him up. But Ray, despite being as brilliant as Gil Grissom, had a lot of personal demons. Fishburne did not renew his contract with the show. The killing off of black characters is nothing new to me. In the BBC show MI-5(or Spooks in the UK), the black MI-5 agent valiantly sacrifices his life to save a fellow agent who was white, female and married to a fellow agent. It was a great scene. But it was also very sad.

She's got 3 movie projects she's working on

Don't feel sorry for her... She's got 3 movie projects she's working on.

Maybe she asked to be let go...

But Yes, How about hiring a Black Male character into the show.

A Black Male Detective, instead of White Male Detective Fosco.

Taraji P. Henson Knew Her 'Person Of Interest' Character's Fate For Years

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/....html?utm_hp_ref=black-voices&ir=Black Voices

Taraji P. Henson knew about her shocking "Person of Interest" fate for years.

"I knew when I signed on to do the project the character would have a beginning, middle and end," Henson said on "Late Show with David Letterman. "Because for me, I do more feature films and television is really not my thing."

Henson's character saved the day, but paid the ultimate price in the Tuesday, Nov. 19 episode of "Person of Interest." The Oscar-nominated actress said she knew her character would die, but just wasn't sure when. She told her mom and grandma she'd be killed off, but other than that, mum was the word.

"Because you can't shock grandma like that," she said. "She might go into cardiac arrest."

Henson told EW she was sad when she got the final script. "You portray a character for so long, you care about her and her life. But art imitates life -- it comes to an end unexpectedly. It was bittersweet, because I enjoyed portraying Carter. What a strong, powerful woman on television," she said.

As for the mood on set when she filmed her last scene? It was "bittersweet, even with the crew. "We laugh and we joke, but at the end of the laughs, it was a sigh. I was trying to keep the spirits up, so all night I was cracking jokes and not hugging and getting too emotional with everyone."

I knew it was coming, but my girl was shocked. She doesn't want to watch the show anymore.

I thought the romance between her and Reece seemed rushed and ham fisted. Maybe, I missed something, but it was never even hinted at that they had romantic feelings for one another. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're 100% correct. It was a wtf moment when they kissed. I could see it more with Reece and the other spy chick but not Carter. And to be honest the whole plot of Carter going so hard for the cop who she was dating made no sense. She knew dude for like a month before he was killed.

2 Broke Girls is filled with racial stereotype lines in nearly every episode
    http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/shortcuts/2012/may/02/2-broke-girls-racist-baffling

Big Bang Theory never features any non white (outside of Raj), non straight people yet it takes place in San Francisco.
Both shows spend of a lot of time perpetuating the asexual Asian man myth. Work-a-holics who are socially awkward with women. Even on a show with all socially awkward guys like Big Bang Theory Raj(the Indian guy) is the only one without a woman in his life.
It becomes blatantly obvious after awhile.

They're making an American version. There's also a pilot for a previously failed American version here. It was called Babylon Fields. It's not bad.
