You know it's funny. I never had heard of this myth until quite recently and only on some internet messageboards have I heard it. Never in real life. Probably because it's not true. I'm a blonde blue eyed white girl who's always loved and found black men to be much sexier than white men not to mention I have 2 half black kids and I am far from ugly as you can tell from my picture which is on my profile and in the personals. I am always told how beautiful and hot I am by guys of all races including white guys who know that I love black men and only date marry or have sex with black men. Most of the beautiful white girls(and almost always natural blondes with blue eyes) I have seen are dating or married to black men including my 3 sisters and most of my white female friends. In fact I don't recall seeing a white girl with a black man who was fat and ugly.

I have seen fat, ugly white women with black men, but I've also seen beautiful white women with black men as well as fat, ugly white women with white guys and beautiful white women with white guys. No specific WW/BM couples. I, for one, LOVE black men, and I am not a fat, ugly white woman, or at least I HOPE I'm not

You know what's interesting? I am doing some "inner work" if you will, trying to catch negative thoughts, lies and untruths that I've accepted or tell myself without even realizing it. (For those who like Christian self-help books, I'm re-reading Joyce Meyer's Battlefield of the Mind). After I wrote the above sentence (and yes, I was mostly joking, Rita), I was putting my lunch together for work and the thought "I like my curves" went through my mind. The next two thoughts were almost simultaneous: "Wow! Where did THAT come from?" and "Why? You need to lose weight to look good." I realized right there that much of my dislike for myself comes not so much from within, but from without. The belief that only sleek and slim women are attractive and desirable, which society has ingrained in me. And that's an outright lie. One I will not tell myself (at least consciously) any more.

This world would be a terribly "same" and boring place without variety.

Oh, and to speak to the title of the thread, I have an IR dating page on my Facebook feed that is filled with IR couples, many of them WW & BM. And most of the women are quite attractive. Lovely couples.

 

I think our preferences are influenced by what we've seen as we've grown up, family members, friends, what people look like generally in that period of time, & and what kind of images we have been exposed to in media as we've grown-up.
