So today we spent the day exploring Santa Fe, NM. Lovely town. Just as I pictured it. Leaving tomorrow for Texas.

Trip continues.......yesterday we ended up staying in Lubbock, TX. No need for any of you to visit there. Crappy city. Today we left and continued onto San Antonio. We stopped in a small town called Mason which was a real western town. Adorable. We finally made it to San Antonio. Staying at a gorgeous hotel called the Menger Hotel. Just gorgeous. Strolled down to the Riverwalk which is so cool. Just amazing. We've really done well for two girls traveling across country with no hotel reservations!! Decided we'd better reserve a hotel in New Orleans because it will be the weekend. Every hotel we called was booked!! Finally found a hotel which is a bit more than we wanted to spend, and we are told our room needs renovation. Don't know what that means, but at least we have a room. Tomorrow we leave for Austin.

Saw the Alimo in San Antonio. Very interesting. Really loved San Antonio, but was a bit disapponted with Austin. Always heard how great Austin was but didn't really discover why. Had a fantastic dinner at Moonshine's but wasn't all that thrilled otherwise. Looking forward to heading out for New Orleans tomorrow.

If you are stopping in San Antonio then go to Houston

Check out Montrose, the Galleria, and the Museum district

Can't believe how much territory we've covered. Seen so much beauty on this trip, but I have to say the most fun we've had has been right here in New Orleans. What a crazy place. It's been awesome. Will definitely return here and spend more time. New Orleans is beautiful. Went on a tour of the city. Didn't realize how big New Orleans is. Stopped at an old cemetary, had a great dinner at Oceana. Hit a bunch of bars on Bourbon Street, got lots of beads thrown at us, saw a wedding party dancing down the street along with great New Orleans music playing. Streets are packed with people partying. Everyone today was wearing purple because of the LSU game. Really enjoying this visit. Can't believe we will be in Florida tomorrow. Time goes fast..........

Can't believe I am actually back in Florida. We have stopped in Panama City where it is absolutely beautiful!! Somehow we really lucked out and got a room on the top floor overlooking the ocean. The sunset was just gorgeous. Going to stay here another day before returning home.

This here is my favorite picture! As a native southern Californian, I'm a big beach fan and those sands are ridiculously beautiful!

I, too, love California and hope to live there eventually. The thing that makes California so great is that it has both mountains and ocean. Can't wait to go back and visit.
We spent the day relaxing in Panama City after spending two weeks running around. Really enjoyed the day...............

So my road trip has come to an end, and I am back home safe and sound. This has truly been a once in a lifetime experience. I had so much fun driving across this beautiful country. I saw so much. My favorite places are California (I plan on moving there one day), Sedona, AZ, and New Orleans. Panama City was great for a while, but very quiet.
Hope those of you who looked at this thread enjoyed the photos.....Now back to reality!!
