True Lippy, I agree with what you are saying above, however, think about what I had to go through. The officer basically admitted that he stopped me based 'only' on my skin color, and the fact that 'he' thought I looked out of place (read suspicious criminal) in my own damn car and my own damn neighborhood. If I was just average joe regular citizen with no contacts to put the fear of God in him, he would probably still feel justified.

Just curious as to your TSA experience, did you have a knee replacement or knee surgery? I know my father in-law gets stopped just about every time due to the metal in his replacement knee joint setting off the alarms every time he goes through security.

I'm sorry you had to go through that, Loki. :( How humiliating. I would wager a bet that every guy on here has gone through a similar thing. But how embarrassing to go through it in front of your neighbors.

You would lose, I can't think of any day I was knowingly profiled. Actually when I was younger I was very charming, convincing, and disarming and stole so much shit right in front of people's faces who didn't even know it.

horrible policies. I'm glad I don't shop there to begin with. Macy's, Gimble's, Barney's, Lord & Taylor, etc. Not my thing.

I have been racially profiled. There are times when racial profiling is necessary. I do not permit racial profiling to destroy my life. I have bigger issues to concern myself with.

I rarely neg rep people but one is coming your way via me the "angry black man"
You are the personification of what is wrong with oblivious assholes. You say you wouldn't be surprised if every department store had a loss prevention quota which in essence wouldn't bother me. The issue at hand is when its clearly TARGETING JUST BLACK PEOPLE AND BLACK PEOPLE ALONE. That is what this article/thread is about.
It's a discussion acknowledging the fucked policies of Macy's and hopefully the boycotting of their stores by people of color.
I didn't twist anything around you are trying to justify the shitty behavior post after post as if we should be good little black people and understand the plight of people in retail and why they are forced to harass people just because they are black. Its not just looking for suspicious behavior of any patron visiting the store but its specifically targeting people just because they are black.
How do you not see something wrong with that way of thinking. Especially since you supposedly date and love bm.

Who said anything about letting it destroy your life? You can recognize it as being wrong more often than not correct?

What is wrong with you? Why is any critique of the system or policy that specifically targets blacks just for being blacks wrong to you?
And where do you get that I dislike white people or any people for that matter?
White people are getting fucked by the system too but that's not the topic at hand. You don't see anything wrong with being detained based on your skin tone and nothing else?

You quietly sit down in your seat on your redeye into La Guardia....across the aisle from you sits three middle eastern men, all speaking in a language you don't know with carry on bags....

I'm sure you're ok with that.

Unlike you I'm not a scary ass person. Does TSA's borderline sodomy 'security procedures' not make you feel safe enough? But seriously, can somebody tell me when it's legitimate to profile somebody based on their race, skin tone or ethnicity?

You like many dummies see the word WHITE or THE SYSTEM and swear I;m talking about WHITE PEOPLE and that's never ever been the case.
Lippy is not new so me seeing her bs for what it is isn't based on some knee jerk reaction to a new poster I don't like. You may be new to the party but this bs ain't new.
And if you don't agree with the behavior why do you feel compelled to voice an opinion that makes it seem like anyone who speaks out against it is some how embodying victim behavior.
I obviously don't have any issue with white people and there has never been anything to suggest that I only get along with white people who are extremist like the Black Panthers. I have no idea where you got that shit from.
When I see bs I speak on it and the vast majority of you have no problem with it when I'm speaking on behalf of shit you agree with. I'm never racist or hate white people then or whining or embodying victim behavior.

With all due respect, that would depend on where I am and what I am doing.

I am not attempting to antagonize you.

I have traveled to many countries; therefore, I will racially and culturally profile, in order to figure out a person's country of origin, especially if that person is an attractive female, with a big gluteus maximus and breasts (What can I say? My testosterone levels are always high, and my wife knows I look and do not touch, because that is how I got her!:D)!

For example, if I am in a war zone, I would racially and culturally profile, in order to determine friend or foe. If I were to detain someone, who I suspected of being my foe (using racial and culture profiling), then I discover he or she is a non-combatant. From that non-combatant's position, I have inappropriately racially and culturally profiled, and that non-combatant would be correct with his or her position; however, I needed to racially and culturally profile, in order to survive.

If I were alone walking on the southside or westside of Chicago, which are the high crime areas of Chicago, and I see three young adult AA males walking toward me, and they are not dressed in business attire, at 1:00 am on a Saturday morning, I am profiling and thinking 'thug'/'enemy'/'ensuing confrontation'. Am I wrong? Yes and no. If the three young adult AA males were to attack me, then my profiling is correct; yet, I am wrong, because there is no reason for me to be walking in a high crime area, at that hour. If the three young adult AA males were to cause me no harm, I am wrong. From the position of the three AA males, and I should not be alone on the streets, on the southside or westside of Chicago, at 1:00 am, and who am I to judge?

Once again, I am NOT attempting antagonize you. I have learned and I am learning to suffer in silence, forgive, and proceed in life, because I have committed wrongdoings to others, of which I have been the victim.

I am not stating you are wrong or right. I am stating to return to the principles of Bushido. Learn to bear insults with dignity and humility, while treating others with compassion. Verbal attacks and physically attacks can cause harm; yet, more often than not it is our ego that is attacked. Once again, I am not stating you are right or wrong.

Real victory is attained, when no attack is delivered and no one has suffered in battle, verbal or physical.

Vote with your dollars folks. Unfortunately certain people only respect the almighty dollar so the only way for these people to start treating others fairly is to never shop in their place of business in the first place.

    Great post.

your rep means nothing and is worth nothing...you couldn't buy a gallon of milk with it...the majority of that rep has been granted to you by living in your mother's basement and posting 24/7...you are insignificant to me...therefore what you say means nothing and has no value...apparently I live rent free in your head:smt003
